Intex 29020 - Solar cover for pools 196 cm diameter

Sure, it's a bit overpriced for what is little more than heavy duty bubble wrap, cut to size. However, it definately traps the heat and raises the temperature of the pool when the sun gets on it. Also does a good job of keeping bugs and other detritus out, so I would absolutely recommend it. It loses one star on price.One last thing. Many have complained there are holes in it. Yes, there are, but they are supposed to be there! They vent the top of the pool and prevent rainwater from sinking the cover.

Great cover. However I bought the '8ft cover' for my 8ft frame paddling pool and this is not what was delivered. It was actually only 6'9 in diameter (which might well fit an easy set pool but not a frame pool). I did not manage to get the seller to give me a full refund. They have been difficult and I have agreed to a 50% refund (and keep the cover, which I don't want) as I can't be bothered with the hassle. I bought a bigger one and trimmed it down to fit my pool. When the cover is the correct size it is a great product.

What can I say about this? This is the second one I have owned of these, as it is just a piece of bubble wrap double covered in plastic. But the science is ace, as the sun warms the air in the bubbles and then that transfers to the water thus insulating it. So the first 30cm of water is actually luke warm, lower it is ice cold as standard. So don't be fooled!It is easy to fit, snugly sits on top of the water, and when not in use, put over the washing line. It keeps most bugs n leaves out of the pool, but be careful when removing from your pool not to let all the debris just drop off the cover into the pool, gently gently.One of these should last you a couple of years (if not more) depending on where you store it. I have had other covers, but there is no need, just get one of these, the tie up covers are not much use IMHO, as they just rip where the draw cords are.I would recommend this product for anyone with a pool, as this will keep your pool clear of debris and as long as you have a chlorine floater, the water will stay mould clear. My only gripe is the price, as you are paying for a big sheet of bubble wrap, but who am I to argue, as it does its job.

It kept some stuff out the pool and indeed the pool was warm, but really it was bubble wrap attached to a piece of blue plastic that lay on top of the pool. My fault maybe for not reading the description properly but I thought it was going to be a bit more robust. Nice carry bag to put it in mind.

Bought to replace my existing Intex pool cover, it was delivered quickly and I opened it and put it on the pool without reading the packaging. I had ordered a cover to fit an 8ft diameter frame pool, to my surprise the cover was much smaller 6ft 10inches. This was a cover for an inflatable 8ft pool which is the base measurement, the top diameter is much smaller at 6ft 10in, rather than send it back I settled for a partial refund.

It’s made out of bubble wrap. Not sure what I was expecting but thought perhaps the bubbles would be made of thicker plastic so that they weren’t easily popped. If only sensible people will use it then it’s probably good enough quality, but if kids or adults with low impulse controls get near it, those bubbles are getting popped!

Solar cover is great, definitely warms up top few inches of water in sunshine, which then mixes round, so (unheated) pool has been really reasonable temperature since we put it up. And keeps heat in overnight, prevents evaporation. Well worth the money. NB It does have small punched holes, presumably to let pool 'breathe' so you have to be careful lifting up if there are leaves etc on top, but easy enough with 2people or solo, if being careful.

Waste of money for a pice blue bubble wrap intex ripping people off selling round pieces bubble wrap only difference is the pool cover a bit thicker prob better sit black bags on the top of the pool would prob get more heat than a suposed to be solar cover I see no difrence at all don't waste u money
