This kit will fit VW Golf MK5 2004 onwards (approximate guide only) with the original VW car radio models as pictured. The auxiliary adapter enables you to connect your iPod, iPhone, Samsung, Sony and many more Android smartphones to your standard factory fitted car radio. This kit simply plugs into the rear of your radio giving you an AUX cable to play all your music. Another benefit is the quality of the audio is much better than cheaper options, such as 'FM Transmitters'. COMPATIBILITY - PLEASE ensure that your radio has the 'Quadlock (flat pins)' connector at the rear as there is more than one adapter available. This will ONLY fit models that have the 'Quadlock (flat pins)' connector at the rear. Please see image above showing what the compatible connector at the rear of the radio looks like. PLEASE also ensure that there is an external CD changer input, especially if there is a built-in CD changer. Please view the pinout image above to verify compatibility if unsure. Some RCD310 head units in newer VW models (approx 2011 onwards) may no longer support the addition of an external CD changer. If the pinout diagram on the back of the RCD310 has the CD changer pins labelled as “NC” then this will indicate that the radio will not be compatible with this AUX adapter.

Excellent buy to add aux to original CD player
This item works very well on my 2008 MK5 golf (RDC-300). Just remember to earth the loose connect 2 black wire! I attached it to the rear of CD player!. The sound quality is loud and clear!The phono to 3.5 jack supplied is way too small...I purchase a 1.8m phono to 3.5 jack and also a 3.5 female to female connector and made a hole in one of the spare buttons close to the "ESP OFF" switch!If you purchase a Bluetooth receiver with a built in microphone you can stream music and have hands-free calls! These cost around £15.00.

Slightly short cable, overall does what it says on the tin
All installed fine, very easy to do.Instructions in the pack could do with some work, and I would suggest anyone wanting their phone/ipod to work with this to buy a longer 3.5mm adaptor, as the one which comes with the package only stretches to the glove compartment.Apart from the slightly short cable and the terrible instructions I can play my own music through my car and I am happy.

you’ll need someone with tiny hands!
Just finished setting up the aux on my mk5 golf.Started getting the dash off which was easy enough. got to the back of the stereo and just winged it because the instructions looked like they were drawn up by a young child! Could not make heads or tails of them possibly the worst instructions I had ever seen! But it’s a sound product relatively easy to fit but like others have said the aux is incredibly short! I went to maplin and brought a 3m extension abit excessive but long enough to come out one of the squares near the esp button. also finding somewhere to ground the loose cable was a nightmare because not one person I knew had a screw driver small enough!But still a great product sound quality is 10/10!

Expensive but does the job well
The Aux Adapter is not packaged as in the photo shown but is received in a plastic sealed bag. This was fitted by an auto electrician along with a surface mounted 3.5 aux socket.I have plugged in a car Bluetooth receiver which allows streaming and calls through my standard VW stereo. Whilst expensive, this keeps the original stereo in my car but with greater functionality.

Great for plugging your phone into your car stereo, but buy another 3.5mm to phono cable to go with it.
No more skipping through radio stations trying to find something bearable! Fairly straightforward to install - the biggest faff is getting the trim off, but there's loads of videos on YouTube to guide you through. You'll need a torx 20 driver, some kind of prying device and a torx 8 if you want to earth it to the radio unit.Haven't given it five stars just because (as others have said) the 3.5mm to phono cable is too short, but apart from that it's great!

Phones now connected to my car
Used in my VW Golf MK5 easy to install and sounds good, only negative is the aux leads way too short but dealt with that by ordering a longer lead. Thanks to other reviews I had that covered from the start.

Changed my commute
I can’t believe it took me so long to buy this kit, it has changed my driving experience. Very easy to install I just watched a video online to get the radio out and plugged in the kit.

Why did I wait so long!
Loving this piece of kit, works really well, sound is really good, as other reviews have said the lead is short so buy an extension, instructions weren’t great I just used you tube, it’s actually quite straight forward once you get the radio covering off.
