Even if you already have copies of these, this collection is worth having for Pauline Baines' illustrations.

I personally think that 'Lord of the Rings' should not be read by anyone until their teens when they will have a better appreciation of the stories and characters. This set of little books however will act as a nice introduction to Tolkien and the world he writes about. I've bought a set for my friend's grandson who is 7 this year and can already read competently.

The books are smaller than average in size, the font is normal & there are some nice illustrations I wasn’t expecting. Very cute set all around, well presented so good for display as well as reading - if that concerns you. The packaging was a joke but the books miraculously arrived unharmed so happy days.

Small but very beautiful set. We collect book sets and this is a nice addition to our home library.
