Fun Emotion Teaching Tool
This is a fun learning tool; my kids adore making faces on this carrot. The box it came in was a bit smaller than I expected but everything was in there. The carrot is double sided in that it has velcro circles on each side. The facial features come in two sheets of felt so you need to pop them out. There's 10 different emotion cards that you can match the felt pieces to to make the same face on the carrot. You really need to press the velcro from the piece into the velcro on the carrot or else they'll just fall off when you pick up the carrot. I wish this came with a little storage bag for everything. The box works ok but it has those folds in the base so facial pieces can easily hide under the flaps. The back of each emotion card has tips for when you or a friend is feeling that emotion. Some of the tips are good and some are not so great. For example, the happy card says you can "play a prank" on a friend if they are happy. I personally do not like pranks but I also don't see that really making sense as a normal response to someone you know being happy - prank them. The nervous card says you can do "handcraft". I'm not 100% sure what they meant by that. Good or bad, the suggestions create the opportunity for discussions surrounding responses to emotions and also how not everyone will react the same or want the same sort of support. So a couple of quirks, but overall a great educational tool (that kids will think is a toy).

Cute but poor quality
The carrot is really cute and the facial expression attachments are well depicted. Unfortunately the attachments are flimsy. The Velcro on each piece is way too small and pieces do not attach well to the carrot. That being said I’m keeping it, just because I like the depiction of facial expressions. I might add Velcro to make it work better.

Cute game!
Such a cute game to show kids emotions and talk through them. Great for my 2 and 5 year old. They liked changing his face and explaining why the carrot has that emotion.

Very Engaging
The attention of three year olds is almost as short as my teenager. I have a strategy to make my grandson's visit to my home worth a repeat. This toy was a strategic choice for him to play and yet learn more about facial expressions. Most kids pick up on this naturally, but all children learn differently and often at a different pace. My grandson picked up on this toy. Only thing is that he wanted to take it home! Oh my, the fight was on! (smile)

Niece loves it
Got this as a stocking stuffer christmas present for my niece who is 4. She loves it and has a very good time making funny faces with the carrot.

Engaging and creative faces
Imaginative way to approach teaching emotions with preschoolers. Product has so many options for creating different faces with clear visual card guides that are easy for children to follow. I use it both to teach vocabulary (like 'eyebrows') and to learn to associate facial expressions with emotions. Kids can also be creative and just make unique faces. One caveat is that since it has a cloth exterior, I'm concerned about keeping it clean when using it with multiple children. This is only an issue for me as a teacher -- I've been spot cleaning it which has worked so far.
