They are a must to protect the produce.
These were a great boon when I was jam and pickling during the summertime. It saved a lot of fiddling and extra work they were perfect , just pop them on the finished jam and Bobs your Uncle seals the jam and pop your lids on. They are necessary to stop mould, perfect fit and good value. As well as making your goodies look more professional.

Use with jams or high brix products where your relying on the sugar for preservation
All good, if your not sure why you may need to use them for home preservation products, the principal is simple, when putting hot jams or high brix products In jars with tight fitting lids, you can get condensation on the lid, without a wax disk this condensation can drip down onto the surface of the jam in small areas, this in turn causes a reduction or dilution in the sugar in that area which can lead to spoilage, the wax disk spreads this out and avoids the issue, not a garentee but it certainly helps! So would recommend.

So much cheaper than local stores
Started to make jams & chutneys during lockdown and these wax discs were perfect for the 1lb jam jars I had collected - was dubious about quality when I originally ordered as the price was so much cheaper than branded stores but needn't have worried they were delivered quickly and perfect for my needs.
