Let's Make Some Great Placemat Art

This book comes with tear out pages that a child, or anyone really, can decorate their own placemat. I purchased it to keep the young and even younger member of our family entertained while we wait for our food in a restaurant. It's an excellent idea. Each placemat is printed with a "theme" that the artist builds off of. For example, there is a page with several cartoony looking people on one side & bird on the other. There are thought bubbles over everyone. The questions are, "What are these people dreaming about?" and "Do birds dream too?" It will keep kids entertained long enough for the entree to arrive. The paper is heavy weight. Its a quality product. But...(you knew it was coming) while there are 36 placemats in the book, there are only 9 designs. I don't know any child who is old enough to think about whether birds dream, yet are young enough to enjoy doing it 4 times. My plan for this book has changed. I'm going to use it at my granddaughter's birthday party. Everyone can pick the design they want. I think it will be an entertaining time-filler while the cake & ice cream are being served.

Love this art!!! What a great idea too. My kids really enjoy making a great picture while i'm cooking dinner. Keeps them occupied and then they get to eat on it! Only problem is they get attached and don't want to throw them away when finished :)

We do family activities every few months and all the adults and children who came over LOVED this set of place mats to personalize and design. Afterward, I took the finished products to the copy store and had all of them laminated! What a fun gift and full of memories for years to come!

Nothing to get excited about. Mildly entertaining for children

My daughters love these placemats. It gives them something to do while I'm cooking dinner! I laminate them so they can do them again and again.

I have four kids old enough to draw in this, so it was nice to see that the pages were repeated four times, so everyone could do the same page at meal-time and not fight.

My son got through this in about 1 restaurant sitting so you might want to ration them! I've just bought a second one for a friend. One of my favourite kids creativity aids.

thought these were a great idea for child's Christmas pressies. they are great quality too. Would even be great to take the sheets out to restaurants to keep children entertained. looking forward to giving these to friends children

A great item to take along while out dining with children. Kept my son busy and happy for a long time also was a more sociable item to keep him busy compared to computer items.
