Silverline Double Suction Pad 70kg (675088), Blue

Purchased this to help lift and position 140cm x 75cm panes of 4mm tempered glass for a greenhouse refurbishment. The grip on the glass was excellent allowing me to support and fix vertical panes of glass working on my own. The handle is plastic but feels robust and is comfortable to grip and the levers to apply/release suction feel firm but are easy to use. Like all suction devices, the surface has to be clean and flat to get an effective seal. Releasing the suction was also straightforward (if it doesn’t release, just twist the handle slightly to break the seal). Not tested this on anything approaching the maximum rated weight, but the greenhouse panes are larger than most of the window panes in my property, so I think it will be fine for anything I’m likely to need it for around the home. Made an awkward job much easier and safer and, at the price I paid, represents good value for money.

Bought this to slide flooring which had moved. It grips perfectly (just clean the floor first) and is robust enough to be tapped along - make sure you use a block of wood to tap through.Don't know why, but always had one piece of my laminate flooring which 'walks' over time. Need to knock it back every couple of months despite trying to glue/bond that piece. This works very well.

It's principally made of plastic and the suckers didn't look like much, but I thought to test it I would do what most men would probably want to do - I attached it to the ceiling and tried to hang from it.I weight about 9.5st - not much. I'm quite a slight bloke, and it managed to support my entire weight clean off the floor.Strong enough for the job with powerful suction. Works nicely.** UPDATE **It's 2020, and I still use it. The marks on the ceiling from my experiment remain.

Worked well removing car windscreen

This suction cup unit performed better than expected in removing and handling lots of sizeable glass units when decommissioning a greenhouse. Very strong and easy to use. Highly recommend.

Exactly what I needed. You may have to clear the surface to get a good seal, but that's reasonable. Bigger than expected but again not an issue. Made it easy to remove and manipulate a kitchen plinth.Also doubles up as a overly large telephone handset for my toddler!

I ordered it to remove the glass from the front of an iMac that I was repairing and it worked perfectly. The suction generated by the two cup seems to be very strong and would be sufficient to hold a large and heavy piece of glass such as a car windscreen.The only slight downside is that it left two circles on the glass that were quite difficult to remove hence 4 stars rather than 5
