Easy to get at, better than backpack pockets
The back pack pockets are not conveniently placed when you need a quick drink. Having the water bottle on my hip is so easy to grab. I put it on a separate belt, not the one that holds up my trousers for obvious reasons. It can take very wide water containers too.

Reasonably good quality but awkward sizes
I ordered the small one for my belt and the large one for my bag. The small 550ml bottle holder is a very tight fit on my bottle and I couldn't pull the drawstring if I wanted. The bottle holder is 20cm high and I would say a 7cm diameter bottle is the biggest you could expect to fit in there as mine is an incredibly tight squeeze. I have another steel bottle that is just slightly wider and that will not fit. So it is unlikely to take any plastic drinking water bottles besides the skinny multipack ones. I am not entirely sure that I trust the smaller holder to hold the bottle securely on my belt however as the single strap only has a tiny bit of velcro and a loose popper that don't really work well together. It does have a d-loop so I can attach a carabiner to it for extra security but it is only plastic. The larger bottle holder is almost absurdly large however with a height of 27cm and a maximum diameter of probably 10cm but maybe more even as the netting is stretchy. It sits far more securely on my bag since it has two straps and no velcro to undermine the effectiveness of the poppers but it is realistically far bigger than necessary for the 750ml bottle I have. Since the larger holder is quite flexible and not very sturdy it sits quite awkwardly on the bag if it is empty and takes up far more space on the side of the bag than is really necessary.Ideally they would make something between the two with the solid construction of the smaller holder, the better attachments of the larger one and of a size somewhere between the two.The smaller bottle holder with a bottle in it fits comfortably inside the larger one so it could be quite useful to pack them on your bag that way and then have the option to take the smaller holder off to fasten to your belt and use the large holder for storing loose items or a folded up rain coat. It is actually large enough to hold my folding travel tripod so I could use it for that even.

Great (and tight) for small bottles
I bought the small version, with one molle strap on the back, and it's perfect for what I need.It straps to my webbing easily enough and hasn't shown signs of falling off yet, and with only one strap, it only takes up a small space that I wouldn't use anyway. It takes my 300ml standard British Army issue thermal mug, and the drawstring closes completely around the top. But, the mug fits so tightly that the drawstring isn't actually needed. It does mean I need to use two hands to get my cuppa out, one to push from below, and one to pull... But I'd be nitpicking if I said that was a problem. It will fit a coke bottle too of course, but it'll be loose and rattle around, so close the drawstring tight.

Wrong size right idea
Ok it's a good product not knocking it..But the sizing is wrong, they say it's for 550ml but the traveling coffee mugs I tried wouldn't fit all the way,too the bottom of the holder it's for at least a size down needs too be bigger.Ive kept mine so I'm gonna try a different size cup at a later date..ok I will leave it there.Mr G.Beaton..

Scout kit
Used with the bum bag, suitable for most water bottles.

no hesitation in recommending this as a good buy.
Not a lot to say, other than this is a very robust pouch, well made, and does the job it's made for!The belt loop is strong and reliable, as is the D-ring loop hanger. The draw cord works well enough to close up the top opening, but in all honesty, I'd be surprised if a bottle would ever manage to fall out.Ideal for standard width bottles of 500ml size - e.g. Lucozade Sport etc.Overall, no hesitation in recommending this as a good buy.

Looks good, feels good but the mole strap attachment is missing attaching strength.
Attached to my Lowepro 102 Sling shot camera bag.The Khaki bag IS NOT THE SAME BAG MODEL AS THE BLACK ONEThis is not my first MOLE water bottle carrier but I have to say is better looking than most tactical ones but with a draw back.GOOD:Big storage, most bottle sizes fit no problems and securely, folding umbrella fits, mini and medium tripod fits, nice product construction & feel, in black looks smart not just another army mole attachment.BAD:The 2 back attachment straps have no secondary or extra webbing near the clip buttons to give a better fixing point. <my personal issue>Ok so lets explain MY BAD view for this product..I've attached this to my camera bag cos it looks way smarter than the other tactical khaki green I have but compare to the other one it has A MAIN ESSENTIAL FEATURE missing and given the size of this pouch I think is worth considering.I fitted a water bottle that is 1.5L and is metal so it has a considerable weight!!!!As you can see in the picture the khaki <NOT THE SAME BAG> has better webbing all round plus a plastic D ring at the top...This item the BLACK ONE has no extra webbing at the back near the attachment points.Essential if you ask me when you can and want to carry up to1.5kg of liquid or gear.At best The weight will defo make the black bag bulgeAt worst will most likely unclip.
