Firmly holds all strings with no fret buzz.
I bought a Winco capo advertised as a 12 string capo and was too weak to hold the strings. Bought this as a replacement and it is awesome. Firmly presses all strings; no fret buzz. Saw a review of someone complaining about it being difficult to move. I don’t find this. It is a strong spring as you need it to hold the strings but any regular player should have developed hand strength enough to move it easily. Totally recommended for 12 string guitars.

Perfect for the job!
Using this on a Takamine EAN40-12C, strung with D'Addario 12s, tuned to DADGAD and capoing on frets 2, 3 and 4. Good, strong tension, giving a nice, bright tone across all 12 strings and much easier to move than my old Shubb. There will always be some slight intonation adjustment needed, when moving between frets, but this seems to need much less than usual, which is very important on a 12-string. Highly recommended!

Much too powerful spring
I have used Kyser spring capos for years on many guitars, and find I can keep tuning and intonation very precisely with care. However this one is a real demon, such a powerful spring I can hardly open it, and even placed right behind the fret it tends to pull the bass end strings sharp. The older one I have, which I bought this to go with as I have more than one guitar and need one in each case, it completely different in tension and much easier to use as well as giving better intonation.

No string buzz!
I'd always thought that Kysers looked a bit flimsy, so I opted for genuine Dunlop capos (not the cheap Chinese knock-offs).However the Dunlop capo never worked effectively on an electro-acoustic 12 string, creating 'open' string buzz. The Kyser, whilst lightweight is FAR FROM flimsy and works beautifully all the way up the neck. The spring appears weighted just right - and I hope it stays that way, and does not develop fatigue. The rubber cushion, being slim and of ideal consistency, allows placement very near, indeed virtually on the fret, to stop any possibility of pulling a string pair out of tune.Plus, as a complete surprise, the packaging contained details to enable free enrolment on playjam.com to get access to 280 hours of beginner through advanced guitar lessons in all playing styles - Fantastic!

A Capo that works for a 12 string guitar
When one plays a 12 string correctly tuned to D through D, a whole step lower, it is convenient to have a Capadestra while playing with six string players if one does not wish to play up the neck for the appropriate accompanying keys. I have three different capos now that work well on the 12 string, meaning they hold the octave strings down sufficiently to make a clear note. This Beauty Does exactly that. Finish is superb, design, simple and totally effective. I would seriously recommend this product, I've been playing 12 string for over fifty years. It was not always to have an efficient Capo available.

Not necessarily the best for 12 string guitar
Uses on a Crafter 12 string, but it's a very strong spring, hard to move easily and still unusable for my hands above fret 3

Buy it..
excellent capo.. good strong spring.. I use it with my Fender Villager '68 Reissue 12 string electro acoustic guitar.. I tune it down to D and use the capo on the 2nd fret for E standard tuning.. the capo keeps it in tune perfectly.
