I bought these books on the basis of comments from other reviewers and am very glad I did so.My 8 year old son is working through this piano course, with me as his teacher (I play piano, but am not a teacher). He loves the cartoons in the book and these seem to bring to life to him what each piece is about. If you follow the pieces bit by bit, your child will accumulate some good piano skills and enjoy the process on the way! It also takes off any pressure from the adult as to what to 'teach' the child - just follow the lessons!We started this together to see if he would like to do piano and take proper lessons from a teacher. Although I have asked him several times would he like to change and get a teacher, he has asked to stay and do these books with me. So we will stick with them until either he moves beyond them or he asks to get a separate teacher. Would highly recommend.

As recommended by our piano tutor. This is suitable for pre-grade 1 learners. Quite a substantial book which is good. Seems to be a couple of versions of this book being available - this one has some extra sight-reading and warm-up exercises. It just meant our piano tutor had different page references to his version but everything else seems to be the same.

My 6-year-old son was desperate to learn how to play the piano. I looked at a great many "first piano course" books, and bought a couple - Chester's is by far the best. The layout and design are lovely - perfect for a little boy - and the characters are engaging. The course itself is fantastic - my son worked his way through book one with his teacher (who also enthuses about how wonderful Chester's piano course is!), and is now enjoying this one. Book 2 progresses a little faster than Book 1 (hands together!), but since the foundations were laid in Book 1, the pace is pitched just right. We love Chester and his Easiest Piano Course! Can't recommend it enough.

Very easy to follow book, my son used Chester’s Easiest Piano book1 and now he is continuing with book no 2. He loves it.

This is good for kids. The drawings and jokes help through lessons. I woudl recommend it for a start. Good buy.
