Great but unsafe for young kids.
My 4 yr old grandson with autism LOVED them! I used them to decorate his birthday cake. Sadly, we had to keep them from his 1 yr old sister who wanted to chew on them because they are mostly plastic with tiny, easily breakable parts.

Lovely Detail!
I have been a train enthusiast since childhood. My dad had a set of Lionel trains that only came out at Christmas time, along with the small city he built the tracks were mounted on. These sets are much smaller in scale, needless to say, but the amount of detail in them is incredible! They are meant strictly as directions and will NOT run on tracks, so please don't buy them thinking they will. They are meant for display purposes only and will look lovely on a shelf, all by themselves or with trees, houses, etc., behind them. Let your imagination take over and create a lovely diorama, or whatever else strikes your fancy. They can be left out all year, or used in a Christmas-themed tableau. The sky's the limit, just use your imagination!

Super small.
Its really small, and wouldn't be good for any kids that like to put things in their mouth.

Only the engines appear to be diecast metal
I purchased these for cupcake toppers and after washing them well found they worked great. My grandson loves trains so after washing again he enjoyed playing with them. The connectors seemed to break off fairly easy but they were a good deal for the cost and did provide entertainment.

Little train set
These are great little toys. I put them in my purse for the little ones to play with when we go to a restaurant and need to fill time. They are plastic and not heavy. The engine goes really fast when pulled back.

Not worth the 12 dollars!
Even though the two engines are tiny and have diecast they aren't worth it. This set is so cheap that the winding mech doesn't work. pretty disappointing.

Decent.
3yo excited about it. Main locomotive is diecast; rest plastic. Didnt pull back a roll forward well. Wish it was full metal since I think hell break the car connections.

Very thin plastic on linkage would not purchase again
