What pads would you recommend with this product Menzerna 2 in 1 2500 medium cut polish?

It is not an easy question to answer, please bear with me. I am new in the world of detailing as a hobby., I started with Mequiar's Ultimate Compound and its Yellow Foam Pad to remove light scratches, but found it was more like polishing than cut, so I changed to Mequiar's Red Foam Pad, still not much improvement. Subsequently I found out my car had soft paint and Maguiars Ultimate Compound is most suitable for hard paint. Menzerna 2500 Medium Cut compound is suitable for soft paint, so I bought it and paired with a Maquiars DA Microfiber Cutting Pad, the improvement is noticeable after 6 to 8 passes. I am now waiting for Menzerna heavy cut compound 1000, with microfiber pad might just be right for my car. Hopefully my learning curve is more meaningful answer than just say use a microfiber pad.
