I bought a pair of these and I was going to try using them for a pseudo photography/ video set up. Using a paper towel and white t-shirt as diffusers in front of them, I get acceptable lighting. Now keep in mind that they really aren't designed for such a task, but the biggest benefit is that they don't heat very much, certainly not like their tungsten equivalents. I was able to keep a t-shirt draped directly across the front without much heating for a couple of hours (however, for safety reasons, I still wouldn't recommend doing this.... I was within 5 feet of the set up and closely watching the entire time). If I had one con to say, it would be that the amount of lighting provided still isn't quite enough for video/ photos. I don't see them being any problem as work lights, however, which I'll probably be using them for occasionally too.

This was physically much larger than I expected. It is quite bright though. I am using in my garage where the door prevents installation of a standard hanging shop light. The mounting bracket actually came bent, but I didn't care enough to have it replaced. The cord is thick and the switch is helpful. I will end up hardwiring this though. Probably will buy another. Just wish it didn't have the brand name so large on it.

included cord and switch are waterproof, and much brighter than expected...illuminated a 75' by100' live oak tree and can be seen 1000' away !
