As a very competent computer user I got this to use with my Bose QC35 II headphones as the 3.5mm cable was a little too short for my DCS and gaming setup. Straight out the box the CSR Bluetooth software was okay to setup but you cannot request to connect to a device like you would on a phone. It is quite hard to pair if it is unpaired randomly. I lost my audio connectivity software that I like to customise the surround sound, however I think you still get the surround sound over the bluetooth device.To get rid of the white noise you need to disable the hands free audio mode. To do so; Open Device Manager, locate "Sound, Video and game controllers", right click "bluetooth hands free Audio device" and disable it.It can also be disabled via device properties or in "Devices and Printers" on the control panel. The instructions on this store page do not show that process.For Windows 10 users, expect regular blue screen of death (BSOD) issues when the device dissconnects or similar. This is a slightly known Windows 10 issue and is a massive pain! I have not been able to resolve it yet.I could easily walk around the house and stay connected to listen to any audio, thumbs up there.Would I recommend?Yeah sure, its a bit more expensive than the eBay alternatives but it does the job.

Using this with Windows 7 to connect to a Bose Mini II SoundLink. Windows found all the drivers first time without issue and I am now playing the pc audio through that speaker via Bluetooth - which was why I brought this item. Only advice I can give is that it seems to be happier from a USB3 port than a USB2. For this reason alone I mark the item as 4 and not 5 stars.

How to install correct drivers for xbox1 on windows (also any Bluetooth device)Insert Bluetooth adapter, then.Open device manager, expand > Bluetooth then right click Bluetooth radio then "update driver" -Click "browse my computer for drivers", "let me pick from a list of available drivers", untick show compatable hardware, click "Cambridge Silicon radio LTD", then on the right side click "Generic Bluetooth Radio", next.Windows will now update correct drivers.Type in "Bluetooth" in windows search bar and open "Bluetooth and other devices settings".Bluetooth should now be turned on.Press the middle Xbox button and windows will pop up "set up Xbox controller" click it and it should sync it to your pc - it may take a few tries may be unsuccessful, but will eventually work. Or you can press the "Add Bluetooth or other device", Bluetooth, click on Xbox controller and sync.

Despite using Windows 7, for me this adapter was in fact "plug and play". I didn't need to use the supplied CD – the drivers installed automatically. I was then able to pair it very quickly with both my phone and a bluetooth headset. Upon setting the audio device to "Bluetooth Audio Renderer" rather than "Bluetooth Hands-free Audio" (the latter is for low-quality two-way mic/headphones communication, while the former is for receiving high-quality audio), the audio quality was basically as good as the wired connection. I didn't fully test the range, but there was no dip in quality across the length of my room, which is all that matters for me.The dongle has a blue LED that fills the entire black area. It flashes during the powered state and shines solid when searching for devices, it seems.So, so far no issues. Will update if there are any.

plugged this into a windows 10 pc and it worked well. thought I'd gain some benefit and found the manufacturers driver, but after installing the bluetooth device didn't work properly. After uninstalling their driver, the windows 10 generic driver worked

Had this a month now & the only 'complaint' I have is, that occasionally, my laptop doesn't recognise it. All i do is pull it out & push back in again & voila! Very happy with it.

Great little thing, brought to connect some BT headphones.Was literally plug and play and i was away.Only slight annoyance is the LED light blinks constantly when BT is turned on. If you are using one of your front USB ports itn can get quite annoying. You either have to turn BT when you are not using it, or my soloution was to put a small amount of black electrical tape over the top :). No more blinking light.
