Interesting stuff
This is very interesting stuff, its like Mercury but not toxic and unless you warm it in your hand it is as hard and solid as any other metal.I had this about 5 minutes before i suddenly realized how some unscrupulous magicians especially one who i will not name manages to bend spoons and break them just with the warmth from his finger tips. Probably manages i should say.I don't have enough to pour it into a spoon shaped mould but i have made just a little stick with it and yes it melts when it is rubbed to make friction to warm it up a bit

KEEP AWAY FROM METAL!
No warnings on the packaging about what this can do to metals so loses a star.In particular, it will KILL anything aluminium. This potentially includes expensive electronics, mobile phones and commercial aircraft. Fun to play with but with the potential for an unhappy ending.Once it melts in your hand, it will form a very fine layer of molten metal that looks like a grey residue but is actually tiny droplets. Be very careful not to contaminate other metals with it.Take a quick look on YouTube for a video of gallium attacking an aluminium Star Trek badge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_KE0uZSTjU

more info required on item description
I had actually bought this as I make jewellery and thought I could wire wrap it as a pendant, didn't realise that it melted or softened. When I received it - it was just a square of metal and I was very disappointed that I had spent £16 on an item that would be pretty boring as a pendant. I went on to read the reviews and look into how to return it and found that it melts with the heat of your hands - I stupidly rubbed it between my hands to get it to warm (don't do this if wearing white or no were near a sink). My hands became very black and some of the metal did melt which was interesting. Then noticed that my 9ct gold wedding ring has changed colour and half of it is now silver - im hoping this comes off - but its looking very unlikely at the minute !! so wouldn't recommend using it if wearing gold jewellery - just in case it is permanent ! I would ask the seller to put more information on amazon for the item - for people like myself who bought it on a whim and didn't read the reviews.

Expensive for what it is.
Took awhile to come, although it was from Germany and when it did get here I expected to put it in my hand and have it melt instantly but it took a good 10 minutes of squeezing it tightly and breathing into my hand to get it to melt just a tiny bit.Not really worth buying.

Well...
Well, this is simply metal, funny to play with it for few days, really interesting to watch, but it makes everything dirty like dust

Melting metal in your hands!
This is a really fun product that allows liquid metal to melt in your hands, because it has a really low point of reaction to temperature. Just fascinating. However, it takes longer than you think (about 20 minutes for us), and it comes in a plastic pot - which when melted it could stick too, so consider placing it into a glass pot after use. Really fun for experimenting though and will easily take an hour or two of your life up!

Lovely find!
This is a lot of Gallium for your money! The sample bottle it ships in is high quality and makes a nice display container for showing it off! It also mirrors the inside of the bottle easily which is very attractive! The Gallium also seems very, very pure - I've had some in the past that just looks too dull. This is very bright.

A decent quantity, unusual and fun.
20g is enough to play with, I checked the weight and it was correct (just over 20g). I found that putting it in a tiny teflon-coated pan and pouring hot water over it was the best way to melt it without making a mess and losing any. I wouldn't recommend holding it in your hand! Best to keep the gallium and yourself clean. Once melted, if you leave it to cool, it often supercools, i.e. stays liquid even when it gets to room temperature. Then if you drop a crumb of solid gallium into the liquid, it triggers crystallisation into the nice crystal structure shown in the pic.
