Ideal for beginners of all ages!
Although this pack looks aimed at children, I can assure you I had a lot of fun learning how to make clay charms! The pack comes complete with a how-to book, a rainbow assortment of clay blocks, a plastic cutting/shaping tool, a small bottle of glaze as well as silver-coloured jumprings, headpins and charm bracelet for you to attach the baked charms to. I found the book extremely easy to follow, complete with basic instructions on how to condition, shape and mould charms in a variety of shapes. I was particularly attracted to the 'baking goods' section, which included doughnuts, cookies, ice cream cones and marshmallows, but the book also has great instructions on how to make animals such as hamsters, rabbits, fish and lizards! The clay blocks were of excellent quality for the variety and price point, they were easy to work with and the colours are very vivid for each block. The plastic tool was good for a basic job, as were the silver-coloured jewellery components. Although the clay and tools are not of professional quality (I am going to invest in some shaping tools as well as Fimo now) this pack provides a fun and useful introduction to making clay charms. Recommended!

Great gift and just they look just as good are the pictures on the book when made
tired of buying arts and crafts that look so perfect and professional ony to get them home, make them and it looks like tat. Not this! Great instructions, the kids were able to get going straight away and had such fun making them. well worth the value as the fimo is quite expensive. Klutz is really a make you can rely on, we've had some beautiful kits from them at a great price.buy it, you won't regret it.

Absolutely adorable & simple to do to.
My children (age 9 & 6) loved creating these little charms. Great ideas, step by step instructions and you get the clay too! An amazing gift for not much money. This kept my daughters busy all over Christmas & they've asked me to buy more for presents for their friends too.

... for my 11-year old daughter and she has really enjoyed using it
I bought this for my 11-year old daughter and she has really enjoyed using it. She has made numerous charms, all of which look very like the photographs in the book, using very little tools or equipment. They have kept her busy and away from her ipod for quite a while! The only downside is that there is only one bracelet supplied, I think there should be more so they can be given as gifts. I would recommend buying some little bags to keep the clay colours separate. I think this has inspired a new hobby as she seems really keen on clay modelling!

A fantastic activity
This was great. I gave this to my 7 year old granddaughter. She is very creative and made some lovely charms but needed a bit of help. The instructions are so good and easy to follow and we made a lot of charms. They are baked and then glazed and look fantastic.

the concept and the idea is great, but the clay itself is poor quality
The book, the concept and the idea is great, but the clay itself is poor quality. The branded fimo is much more pliable and easier to work with. But at the price the book is worth it.

I found the old love I had for plasterciene, 'rekindled'
You can tell this book/set is primarily aimed at children, as the guide explains even the simplest things in detail with easy to follow diagrams step-by-step, all the way. The clay itself is in very small blocks, perhaps around the size of my little finger, (Although I wasn't expecting them to be big as I'd read a previous post about the size of them before ordering). And the simple fact it was a charm kit, I wasn't expecting to make anything huge either. The set itself I'd describe as an introduction to charm making, as you'd need to 'top up' clay and buy better tools if it's something that you enjoy doing, but personally, I found the old love I had for plasterciene, 'rekindled'. And my 13, and 18 year old came in the kitchen as I was opening it and joined in making things. Small items can be a little fiddly, but it's nothing major either, my hands can be quite shaky due to my health, and even I've manage to make cute things in the book, as well as some of my own. (We never really grow up do we? *Smiles*) The only downfall with the kit is that the colours are pressed together which can blend the colours a little, it's not a major issue however, you can scratch it off with the enclosed tool, and re-wrap them individually with clingfilm. But, honestly you can't complain for the price if it's something you want to give a go.

Great book!
This is a fantastic little book and what's even more fantastic is that it comes with everything you need to have a go at this craft. My little boy loves Shopkins and wanted to make his own and this is the perfect starter set for us to be able to have a go at this! ( I'm sure I'll do something with the bracelet another time). Super clear picture instructions that even a four year old can follow with alittle help.

Wonderful book and kit!
I love this book! The instructions are very clear and the charms are so cute. This is a great activity if you have a large age range, as both the big and little kids are interested, and the big kids can help the little ones. The kids immediately pounced on it and started making things. The 9-year-old was able to replicate the charms in the book. The 4-5 year olds not so much, but they were happy making their own (larger) interpretations. Fun for the whole family. It's not a lot of clay but enough to make a lot of tiny charms. You'll need more clay if you have younger kids! They used up the clay that came with the kit, so I went to stock up on more oven-bake polymer clay at Walmart (bought the Sculpey brand for a buck per block). The book comes with a generous quantity of metal screw-in charm loops and jump rings, but only one charm bracelet. (I ended up buying extra chain and lobster clasps at Walmart. With the kit's included jump rings and some good pliers, I made a bunch of extra charm bracelets so everyone could have their own!) There's also a glaze to make the charms shiny, and a folding paper stand so you can hang the charms while you glaze them. It's a very well thought-through kit. We used our toaster oven to bake the charms per the book's instructions and they turned out great. Highly recommended! It's best to screw the charm loops into the clay so that they don't pull out after baking, rather than just sticking them straight in. This is hard for little hands to do, so an adult can take over. If they do pull out, just use a dab of super glue. And if you run out of the eye screw charm loops, there's a bunch of suppliers on Etsy that carry them.

so süßes set!
das material muß erst mal gut geknetet werden, damit es weich u formbar wird, aber dann klappt es toll u die Anleitung ist auch leicht, wenn auch auf englisch..die Glasur danach ist das beste, denn damit sehen die Sachen noch besser aus...
