Perfect for dog treats……it can also do some for humans…
We got this to make our own dog treats as they seem to be so expensive, it does a brilliant job and our dog loved the results. We’ve had a play and are now drying fruit which is delicious - the only drawback is that the dog loves them to. The dehydrator is simple to use, the instructions aren’t great but don’t let that put you off - a bit of trial and error gets you there. If you find that the stuff isn’t dry enough then just leave it there and add another hour or so - I suggest that you just note times and temperatures so that you know for the next time. The trays are pretty easy to clean, nothing shows that they are dishwasher safe so we just soak them and use a sponge……no problem. We’re planning on drying fruit and having that about the house this Christmas, instead of chocolates……I’m happy yo recommend this dehydrator - I’ve already told friends about it..5*

Very happy with it
This is the second time I've bought this and I'm so thankful for it. It always works well and gives me the result I need. The controls are super easy. Sometimes it takes a little time to clean it but that's not a big problem.

Well made and easy to operate
After hours of reading Amazon reviews and working out how much these things cost to run with our 'most expensive in the world' electricity, I opted for this model. Five trays is good for most purposes. In my case (or rather my dog's case) I can get about 21 days of training treats ready to be vac-packed and froze. Yes, it does take a while, but at 240-ish Watts the cost is reasonable for the 6-plus hours it takes to dry 5 trays of beef pieces. I have yet to try using it for human food items, but I'm sure it will operate just as well. Four stars is due to the trays being made of, what seems to be, thin plastic. Difficult to clean and nothing I could find that tells the user if the trays are dishwasher safe - so, until I know, it is a hands-on job to clean them. It would also be good to know if replacement trays are available. The operating noise is no problem as it is quieter than I expected it to be. I like the fact that, apart from the plastic rays, the item has metal sides for strength.

Surprisingly great investment - I never knew I needed one until I got this and used it!
Teenage sport performance son has been getting sports nutrition advice on high protein sources and was asking for beef jerky, but the good stuff is so expensive. Then someone told me about how he makes his in a dehydrator which led me to buy this - and I'm so glad I did! It's easy to use and simple to clean, it does make a noise, but we keep it in the utility room, so it's not an issue. Since getting it about 10 days ago I've made two lots of beef jerky - the first batch lasted 24 hours before being all eaten! I've also done turkey jerky, chicken leathers for the dogs and several bananas have been made into chips. (The bananas are something of trial and error and take a lot longer than expected, but that's nothing to do with this gizmo.) The beef jerky is great made in this and I can get 8-9 portions equal to commercial packs from one beef skirt and you can adapt the seasoning to suit individual tastes. The last batch I did 2 trays of BBQ and 2 of hot Caribbean. I just put them into little snack bags and my son can just grab one when he wants. Same with the bananas, bagged up in portion sizes for him to take to training for energy etc. Plan to use on apples and also to make beetroot and sweet potato crisps.

Great value for money & easy to use.
This but if kit does exactly what I bought it for. I use it to make jerky & it does a great job of that. I have also use it make dried apples again a great job. If you make jerky or Biltong this bit of kit saves you a fortune. Easy to set tempreture & timer. The recipe booklet that comes with this is not that great, but tons of info & recipes, heat times & temps online, just Google it up easy! All the trays are ok to go in the dishwasher the main unit just wipes clean. I would thoroughly recommend this bit of kit.

Great entrance price dehydrator
I’ve only bought this entry level dehydrator to store things like fruit and mushrooms and I have to say it’s perfect for these items but I haven’t tried it yet for meat products but I have high hopes for this in the near future . It takes around 30 hours at 35C to totally dehydrate fruit and it’s very good on electricity so this may seem like a long time but it cheaply does the job brilliant . The higher end dehydrators are better but if your just getting into storing food items then I would recommend you give this nice little unit a look first then level up as you get better at dehydrating your items .

My dogs approved it
I purchased this dehydrator to make doggie treats at home. Item packed and arrived well and the user manual is simple to read. The manual said it's better to pre-cook the meat before dehydrating, so I followed the recommendation. I boiled the chicken fillets until they are cooked about 95%, then sliced them in good tickness. Placed them(used three tray for big 4 fillets) and set 70° for 8 hours. Because the meat were precooked, they started to dehydrate much quicker. 3 hours in now, they are soft inside but crispy outside - just right for what I was hoping to get as my elderly doggies don't have many teeth left so they don't like chew hard stuff. I swapped the trays every hour so that the strips are evenly cooked. I will leave one more hour and then they should be ready.(total 4 hours). By the way, doggies love it. My dog is waiting patiently next to it. 😂🙂 Hope my review helps for the future buyers.

So far so good. Used it to dry citrus slices for christmas ...
So far so good. Used it to dry citrus slices for christmas decorations and it worked fine. The nature of the stacking trays means the thickest thing you can get in there is about 10mm per tray (unless you counter stack the trays which means it's not a sealed system anymore, but it would be double height. Probably works, haven't tried it). Not too noisy, easy to use, easy to clean. The plastic trays might not last forever but feel sturdy enough for a few years gentle use. Can't ask much more of it for the price!

Timer doesn't work
It looks nice and it does dry food, however: - the timer function doesn't work and simply stops counting down at some point - the -/+ buttons are in reverse order from what you're used to in Europe - the trays are very shallow compared to other food dryers I owned
