Libéron Pure Tung Oil 500ml

Never used anything like this before but even after one coat my old wooden chest looks amazing.Easy to use and good results.

Does exactly what is says on the tin, great oil 👍

Goes on ok and makes a good job of refreshing oak timber gazebo outside.

Probably best of oils in my opinion. It takes time to soak into wood, but it gives best protection in comparison to all others

I have decided to stain and oil my guitar bodies and necks after seeing this oil on youtube and how to use it. That said , I will not be using this until the new year but thought I would provide a review of why I chose this over 'Tru Oil'. I think 'Tru Oil' and the like will do an equally good job but I have several reservations about using it which I outline below.I was confused with all the oil finishes, especially 'Tru Oil' which I now understand may not contain any Tung Oil at all but instead is a mix of varnishes, oils and thinners. However, the reason I chose 100% Tung Oil was due to the issue of storage. As tung oil is a natural product, so long as I decant what I want to use and store the rest correctly, it will keep for quite a while without going 'off'. All of the other 'Tru Oil' products are made with very effective but very cheap ingredients and cure quickly with contact to oxygen.On balance, I did not think that the substitutes actually represent value for money as they are cheaper to manufacture and will not keep long unless oxygen is removed from the container after opening. Also, I concluded that pure Tung is cheaper for me where 'Tru Oil' is cheaper for the manufacturer.Why I wrote this review---------------------------I am creating and stocking a guitar building workshop. The child proof cap is hard to remove as it requires two tiny wings to be compressed simultaneously. The cap should be slightly taller in order to get a better grip.

I specifically ordered this for a piece I was making for a wedding. Unfortunately it took so long to get it thatthe wedding was already over. I ended up getting another tung oil that arrived in two days and worked very goodand was half the cost. I don't know about the quality of this product, it's still in an unopened can.
