Are thoes for drawing with charcoal too ?

If you can draw with charcoal on good quality newsprint, then yes, I believe it will work well for you.

Is this paper the exact same thing my daily newspaper is printed on? I'm looking for something without any type of finish on it.

When I have purchased this paper it has no finish and no ink. It is not labeled acid free though.

Does this tear easily for quilt paper piecing?

This is just like regular old newsprint you would use in elementary school for coloring. I do quilt, but have never paper pieced. I think it would tear easily though for paper piecing. I bought it for my teen daughters because they go through paper for art projects like crazy. It is definitely a good product for the money!

this is actual 30 weight paper? or 30 pounds weight for delivery?

I cannot tell if the paper is really 30 lb. rating, as claimed "newsprint weight," but the 500 sheets of 18x24 inches, if they are 500 sheets, weigh 16 lbs., I actually weighed them upon receipt. There was no dolphin print on top though, all blank.
