Tempted? Then buy it. Nothing better.
At £40 these knives are a bargain. I like a good knife and I do a lot of cooking. I keep some knives for my own use and others for general family use (because they get a bit abused, end up in the sink and only need to be sharp...not really sharp). My favourite knife I possess is a Richardson Midori knife and it really is a thing of beauty and sharpens perfectly. I had seen Global knives in Costco and even Aldi for sale and was curious on owning one. This knife was a great and not to expensive way of scratching that curiosity itch.OK so what do I think ...well firstly...just buy this if you are even vaguely tempted. You will not get a better knife for the money.Personally I would not have this as my main knife, I prefer something slightly bigger (like my Midori). The knife is much lighter than I expected and handles really well. Not much else to say!

Recommended for all
I bought myself a full set of global knives for Christmas, but as I'm still fairly new to cooking - and totally new to cooking with sharp knives - I felt they were a bit too large to start trying to use. I didn't fancy fishing my finger out of the soup, so decided to buy a smaller one that would be easier for a novice to handle. This knife was delivered the next working day. The packaging was lovely, could have made a great gift for any budding chef. The knife is a good weight and superb quality, as you would expect from Global. It's just what I wanted, at an incredibly good price. Now all I need to do is get cooking and try to avoid the A and E!!

Top quality knife
Global are THE BEST kitchen knives I have ever used. The shape of the blade on this one makes cutting up vegetables an easy job. It's very sharp too. The handle is comfortable in the hand and the whole knife is perfectly balanced. The range of knives made by Global is extensive. I have just this one and a smaller flat-bladed one and I wouldn't consider buying any other knife now I have had these two in my kitchen.

Wow... Wasn't expecting that
Global are a well respected knife brand from Japan, recommended by chefs all over the world. I was a bit sceptical about buying the knife as I've used the GS series of knives from other chefs and HATED the feel of the handle!! I made the decision to buy it, if I didn't like I could sell it but the fact is it's probably the nicest, well balanced and comfortable knife I've used especially when using them for the best part of 12 hours a day. Honestly, BUY THIS KNIFE it's a bargain and well worth the £100 price tag let alone the £40 one

Great Knife - Look no further and buy no other brand!
Having been a Chef for a number of years when I was young, I had used various good quality knives before, and so I knew global where fantastic prior to purchasing this.I can only say, it is fantastically balanced and incredibly sharp. I can't imagine I will need to sharpen it on a Whet Stone for some time.My only complaint is that it is a little small for my own personal taste.

Great knife but a bit small!
Amazon says 3 stars means OK and I go with that. Great quality knife but for me it's a little on the small side. Yes, I should know my measurements but I thought it would be slightly bigger. I'll basically use this knife when I'm making a cheese and onion sandwich, cut a bit of fruit etc but I wouldn't use it to prepare a proper meal. I also bought the G-80 at the same time and that's a fantastic knife I would use for all jobs!

Good quality knife, you are paying for the name, there are better out there
Bought as a present for a family member. As always a good quality knife as expected by global. I would say that you are paying a little for the name with this brand. Knife is good and sharp and nice to use for most but it is not the best if you are chopping veg. For how I hold knives it can be a little uncomfortable but anyway I overall prefer a larger knife. Overall a good knife and yes a would recommend but I would not buy this for myself. For a little more money you can get a better shaped knife which is much sharper just not paying for the name. If you do this i would recommend you do your research as there are a lot of knock off knives out there promising what they can't achieve.
