Ok for fringe touch-ups, but only just.
I have thick, wavy hair which can be pretty unruly if it gets caught in the rain between blow-dries. The fringe particularly bothers me because it tends to curl in strange and unpredictable ways. So I bought this to pop in my bag for quick fringe touch-ups.The good:* It's just about good enough to touch up my wayward fringe* It's small* It doesn't weigh much, so I don't mind carrying it aroundThe bad:* Time to heat up is awful - it says two minutes in the manual, it's more like eight, and it varies* Battery life is poor (probably because the heat-up time uses so much juice). I get to straighten my fringe maybe twice. I can't imagine anyone being able to do a whole head of hair with this.* Sometimes it doesn't get to the hottest setting, so it's not even that reliably effectiveI'm keeping it because Braun don't make the mini Independent gas tong I used to use, and the current gas models are too huge to want to lug about. But honestly, if something better came out I'd ditch this in a heartbeat.

My Daughter loves the small robust and rigid item and that she can easily take with her when ever she is out and about, a very useful and user friendly product

The straighteners are small and the locking clip is great but unfortunately I had to send them back as with such strong thick hair even doing tiny sections at a time they were ineffective. I think they simply don't get hot enough. The returns policy and service was smooth and without issue so thanks for that.

Don't put in your hand luggage when flying.
The straighteners worked well but don't put them in your hand-luggage. It was fine going through Airport security in England and Germany, but on the return trip they were confiscated in Japan. So I only got to use them for one holiday.
