Hard to open, then when open impossible to close again. Maybe I was unlucky and got a dud one, but I'm returning it -- it's useless.UPDATE: The seller contacted me as soon as I posted this review. They were very apologetic and immediately gave me a full refund without even asking for the item to be returned. So they certainly make up in service for what they seem occasionally to lack in quality.

Item arrived on time with no issues at all. The fan is very big, sturdy, and best of all causes quite a draft. Fantastic value for money, extremely happy with my purchase.

The item was delivered damaged, one of the bamboo part is split and part of it is sticking out of the fan - so a production default - Also there are some marks on the bamboo as if varnish had dried between two bamboo parts when the fan was closed and looks cracked when the fan is opened.:(Quite disappointed by the quality. Not to mention that previous comments on the difficulty to open and close it are quite accurate.Would not recommend this item.

I’m not sure this is silk, feels more like paper, but is a good size and quite strong, suitable for a man to use too

Poor quality but does what expected for price. Other reviews had ‘hinted’ towards this. Don’t find it hard to open but closing is slow. I had hoped that a few open and closing would loosen it up but I think it will end up breaking. Any at bought for a fancy dress party and imagine it will be in the bin by the end.

It's way to big but more annoyingly it doesn't fold back properly. You have to physically fold each fold back in place before you can put it away. Maybe that will change over time but it's going to take ages...

Great fan, very sturdy, moves LOTS of air. Showed a friend and she immediately bought one too! I wouldn't say it's for men only - it's just undecorated.One of the reviewers mentioned the fact it doesn't close well and I would say that is fair comment (you can't slap it shut like some fans) but I think this is due to the sturdy construction and it doesn't make it difficult to close at all.

So I bought the product to actually use outside for the hot days and when the fan arrived I realised it is bigger than my whole arm. The product has no problem and looks sturdy but maybe I misread or misunderstood.
