Samsung HWMS650 Sound + All in One Smart Soundbar

Q: On samsung's official website it says this model has a 4k uhd passthrough and on the description here it say it doesn't, which one is correct?

My TV isn't 4K ready. However, with an eye to the future, it was one of the features I wanted when deciding on this unit. I do have my soundbar connected in the HDMI loopthrough mode. The Samsung user manual provided is quite basic and makes no mention of a 4K passthrough. But not to be outdone, I did make a check online again of the very informative review provided by Techradar and it clearly states that the MS650 connections include a 4K capable HDMI loopthrough system. I have grown to trust their reviews over the years whenever I have been looking for anything electronic. Hope this helps.

Once you have pressed the buttons to turn it on, adjust the mode, turn the volume up and down they disappear after a few seconds.

Q: How would you rate this to a set up with a subwoofer

I bought the soundbar and found it to be OK but lacks that immersive sound quality for movies. Bass goes down to 80k so it's not very low. I bought the sub and the surrounds and the sound is much better. Bear in mind we are only talking about a £1,000 system so don't expect your room to shake or your trousers to flap. This is a good, simple set up of you're not into spending money £10-£15k on a decent cinema set up

Q: Does this system require an amplifier?

Absolutely not, it's an all in one which can connect via HDMI, Bluetooth, WIFI and a couple of others. The sound loudness is very high and quality is extremely good! You can also tune it to how you want it very very well
