Cheap and reliable - always worth keeping one around
Does Behringer make the best quality audio products around? No. But are they inexpensive and reliable? Yes. I keep this one in my keyboard case, along with a couple of jack leads, so I can always plug into a sound system if I arrive at a new venue that doesn't have enough of its own kit. I've also used the link function to send an output to the sound desk for FOH while also feeding a small powered foldback speaker for myself. You'll notice that all the connections are on the top, rather than front and back of the unit as with most other DI boxes. I quite like this - because it makes it easy to plug everything in on a crowded stage - but you might not.

A great little box!
I've only had this DI box for a few weeks, but I am stunned by the results I'm getting from it! Some other reviewers have complained about hiss but my experience is 100% positive. I wanted a two-channel line-matching unit of some kind to feed my Roland EP880 digital piano output into a Fostex MR-8HD Multi-track recorder. The Roland's output is 2 unbalanced 1/4" jacks for stereo and the Fostex' preferred input is phantom-powered (48V) XLR (it also has the 1/4" unbalanced "guitar" inputs, but the line level seemed to me to be too low - also these only work in mono with the keyboard). When this box was connected I couldn't believe the clarity, fullness and spatial effect of the keyboard sound. Careful experimentation with the various gain settings quickly eliminated any signs of hiss (I've got the keyboard volume at maximum and the Fostex input gain very low). I suppose virtually any DI box would perform a similar function, but this one was so reasonably priced I thought it too good to miss; and 2 independent channels too. The metal casing seems quite solid, but whether it would withstand rough handling in a professional studio or stage setting, I don't know; but in my home recording environment it's not likely to get kicked or trodden on. I consider this a very worthwhile purchase, especially at a bit over twenty quid, including 2x3m Stagg XLR-XLR leads!

A simple DI box that is very good value for the money if you have realistic expectations.
Battery powered and handy to carry in the guitar case if like me you often play at open mic events where you might need to plug into various amplifiers or PA desks. It doesn’t add any noticeable noise makes it easier for the signal to be adjusted. Is it the best DI box on the market? No but in a pinch it does the job and doesn’t negatively affect the sound in any bad way. Obviously you need to be aware of the battery and turn it off when not in use but I’ve never had any problems with it.

Just great for the money
I have a few of these now and use them for a variety of applications. For the money, I don't think you can better these. And it's 2 DI boxes in one so even better value. I use for direct connection to non hi-z mixer inputs (for guitars, keyboards and other line sources e.g. phones), enabling long balanced XLR connections to the mixer or stage box too. Powered by either battery or phantom power from the mixer. Both work equally well. Just remember to turn the box off when not using it so the battery is not drained. Switches on the front control a attenuation pad (I rarely need to use this), ground lift if you get any hum on the connection, battery on/off (off position required if using mixer phantom power) and link (changes it from a double DI box to a single one with a pass through to an amp or equivalent). I have just added more to my existing pool of these and have had 10 years fault free use from some. Fully recommend.

Good product
This I am does what it says on the tin. It is typical Behringer which means that it is definitely not the best in its class but for the money you pay for them, they are definitely worth the money if you’re unable to spend five times the amount on a single item. In true Behringer fashion they can be a little bit noisy, but there is no way you would notice this once the volume is turned up and other instruments or tracks playing. Sound quality wise, is good and despite there being no protective corners they are very durable . Would recommend to anyone who need a DI in a rush and low on finances.

Pros and cons with this one
Cons: Annoyingly there's no mains power option and the battery compartment needs a screwdriver to open it. It also doesn't seem to work well on battery power but I suspect that's my battery not being up to it. Pros: It's a sturdy piece of kit. It works very well on phantom power, but if you're going down that route make sure the volume is low or you may get a lot of feedback. You can reduce any hiss by changing the attenuation and there are three settings so you have options. It is a splitter as well as a DI box so you can have one input and two separate outputs. As always you get what you pay for but Behringer seem to give good value for money even for cheaper equipment. It could definitely do with a mains power input so you don't have to rely on a battery if phantom power isn't available.

Looks ideal, amazing price, hope it will prove as good in use
Bought this to tap the speaker output from a stereo Blackstar guitar amp which otherwise has only emulated output which mutes the internal speakers, and I don't want emulation or muting. An active, transformerless DI should be good for this as I'd be mounting it on the amplifier and it will be more resistant to picking up hum than something with transformers. Hoping that the battery will be long-lived, see no reason why it shouldn't and batteries do have the huge advantage of very low noise too. In many cases the DI will be phantom powered so even the power supply doesn't matter, so it should be perfect for my use and what an amazing price.

Very good DI Box for a small price. Used it many times as input for Bass Guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard in a live sound. The best part is if you forget to buy batteries you can use phantom power from your mixing console (provided your console have it).

Great active DI box. Much better than passive DI

Using this to record bass into my interface then into Reaper, it's really handy to cut out the standard noise from guitars or basses (keep in mind I'm using a squire). The options for noise reduction are excellent, just make sure to read the manual. I also love that it uses 48v phantom power instead of requiring an external DC plug.
