Tintin and the Picaros: The Official Classic Children’s Illustrated Mystery Adventure Series (The Adventures of Tintin)

As a child, I remember going to the library and checking out the Tintin books and being drawn into the adventure, wishing I could be Tintin.Now in my late 20's, I have decided to purchase all the Tintin books so that when my 2 year old is a bit older, I can share the world of Tintin with him :-D

Another for my collection. Only one more to add now. Such great stories. Still enjoyable after all these years.

The "Picaros" was really the last Tintin book before Herge's death. And it is facinating to see the development of our hero. Now, we see Tintin in flairs and slip-on shoes............whatever next? I believe Herge was beginning the process to "modern up" Tintin. Also, points to note, Nester becoming a snoop by listening around doors,(surely not the Nester we knew!) Haddock's wonderful seventies spacehelmet TV. Also, try to look for Asterix and Lucky Luke in the book! All in all, a wonderful effort by Herge to begin to modernise his characters but with this process, it makes "Picaros" a little bit set in time. We can only guess as to what direction Herge was taking Tintin if he had lived to create further stories. But a must to have for your collection and also the full page "brilliant" art work throughout the book.Thank you.

I chose to buy this comic book because I had just bought the Tintin poster and I felt that I could not have the poster on my wall without knowing the story behind it.The Tintin stories are timeless although slightly non-PC for today's kids. Wonderful!

What's not to love, we all know the stories. My kids have just discovered the Tintin series for themselves and read and reread them. They are always pleased to receive another.

It wasn't until I visited Tikal in Guatemala that I realised how much Tintin and Captain Haddock had influenced my childhood.As I wandered round the ruins I was reminded of this book. Which is why I bought a copy and I've greatly enjoyed rereading it. Blistering Barnacles!
