Love it!
I loved reading some of the negative reviews, and seeing that so many just don't know how to use this correctly. So my review will contain comments about how to make good coffee using it.Glass and ceramic versions may look better and feel nicer, but if you're making a light roast drink then you need heat, and the plastic version warms up quicker and holds the heat. Yes plastic feels cheap but it's actually the best choice for a beginner especially.Open up a filter paper and insert it in the holder then run some freshly boiled water all over the filter to rinse it and remove paper taste, and warm the holder. (Bleached white papers will have a better flavour too.) Grind your coffee now, and finer is generally better than coarser. Make a little depression in the middle of the grounds. Pour your water in starting in the centre and moving around in a circle working outwards but never at any stage allow the water to pour down the side of the paper. If it does, it will flow straight through to the cup and make a terrible drink. The water must flow through the grounds!Add water in three stages. The first is just a couple of teaspoons, enough to moisten all the coffee and no more. Next stage, pouring slowly, enough water to fill to very near the top. Take your time. When it's almost run through, add more and probably just about 2/3 of the full amount. Assuming you used about 15g of coffee, you should be adding 250ml of water in total, more than enough for that single cup. The total time this should all take will be about a minute and 45 seconds. If the water is running through far too quickly, you need to grind finer. Keep going finer until you suddenly stop liking the taste and get a bad one. The above method can be refined, but that's the basics. The price for this holder is great value, and the results you can get are consistent once you've nailed your technique. You can't get a simpler method for producing a great drink. If you want to be making more than 300ml of drinks at once, then the 02 size will work better, but if you only ever make single cups the 01 is the one to get.

Hard wearing and does the job
Had this a few years now a take it everywhere with me for on the go coffee. Design is nice and functional and I like that it’s transparent so you can see what’s going on from the sides. Hard wearing as I’ve bounced this off the kitchen floor more than a few times. Simple device but people always seem really impressed by it!

Best quality filter coffee on the move
Background:I am a coffee fanatic. I am one of those rare people who think Costa and Starbuck Coffee is muck and would rather have a cup at home. I drink filter coffee only and STRONG. I grind my own beans for every cup.If I go away from home overnight, I get the sweats about what horror coffee I'll get served. Most of the time I pack up my filter machine (10 Cup), grinder and some beans, it just saves me making excuses why I don't want a cup of instant or cafatiere (yuck). My wife thinks its ridiculous to cart around all this kit so I looked into alternatives. I have owned a Swiss Gold Filter in the past and its junk and the coffee tastes like a cafatiere coffee. This filter and paper combination seems to be the gold standard in portable one cup filters.I was truly impressed, I have been away for work in a hotel for a week now, and I have a good cup of coffee to hand all the time. The water flows really well throughout the paper - the fluting really does work!!I have the small version, which is just fine. I think the larger would be too big. Remember you have to pour the water slowly, its not a fill up and leave it. So, the large size doesn't really matter. Its priced very keenly and very well made!

My life just changed!
So being sick with covid I decided I'm going to be the best coffee connoisseur. And I've heard so much about drip coffee and hario v60 and I thought it's time I walked away from the espresso machines and pods and try this! I was hesitant, I've been eyeing this for about three weeks now because, I drink coffee piping hot. Really bad habit. Now I haven't even got everything yet, like the gooseneck kettle with its fancy thermometer or the cute Cafetière. However I do have this beautiful coffee maker and filter papers, both came like 20 minutes ago and I have a normal fat kettle.I used the 4:6 ratio created by some awesome Japanese guy who won an award which I watched on YouTube. Following his steps, using my fat kettle that pours like a jet, that boils all the way to 100°C. (I stopped it just before it rumbled to get around 85-90°C ideal temp for coffee) and oh my word. My decaffeinated macu picu coffee exploded in my mouth with flavour and passion and sweetness. I thought cold brew coffee and reheating was amazing, this has changed me. I will not be looking at espresso machines for awhile now. I only drink black coffee and I can't believe I took so long getting to this point in my life. Bloody pods! I blame the pods! This is worth spending 4 minutes making! I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning, hopefully a little less sick and make my Sumatra Mandheling caffeinated coffee! This is just wow and the fact that it's wow without a fancy gooseneck kettle and fancy thermometer and fancy cafetière says it all really. It's tastes like the most expensive coffee at a fraction of the price. I mean the coffee maker was a fiver for me! It does the take awhile to drip because it is the V01, but I drink on my own if I was to purchase again I would get V02.

Practical, lightweight and consistent
I researched a number of different brewing methods to try at home as a way to get into home brewing. After seeing reviews of the V60 drippers, I went with the plastic rather than glass or ceramic, purely for the light weight (making use of my small kitchen scales) and the robustness, as I wouldn't have to worry about chipping or smashing it when cleaning etc.The dripper has performed incredibly consistently and has produced tasty coffee every time I have used it and has so easily lead me away from pod/machine coffee for good. An excellent, affordable first purchase to get started on home brewing fresh coffee.
