Gardman A01681 Beach Hut Bird Nest Box - Blue, 23x16x25 cm

Seems solidly made as far as the box itself goes. First thing I notice is that the box doesn't have a lift away side with catch as shown on the picture at the top of this listing, and indeed described in the instructions, which is annoying. Instead there's a slide out base. But the main issue is that it looks like its intended to be hung on a hook, which is useless. This loop is fixed by two screws both positioned where there are joins in the wood. The last box I had was destroyed by a cat scaling a wall and leaping at it because the box wasn't fixed well enough to what held it up (same thing, screw into the join at the top) and this one could easily suffer the same fate with this loop arrangement. I need to add a back bar screwed onto the box in at least two maybe three places and extending above the roofline to fix to the wall.

The colour was not at all like the picture more like a very very light hint of blue not vibrant like the image, seems sturdy time will tell. Was really annoyed after paying this price to find they had practically the same bird house in home bargains for a fraction of the price at just £4.99 don’t waste £16 on something you could get 3 of in another shop for the price of 1 on here 😡

This product looks good and feels sturdy. Sadly it arrived with a crack at the front and damaged wood as it was not wrapped in any protective packaging just a bag. It's been impacted on the front so asked for a replacement. The colour is more of a grey / blue, certainly not like the bright blue in the photo. I still like it though.Had a good look around, price is about right. I could not find it any cheaper anywhere.

I bought this as I liked the design and it had the metal plate protecting the hole from the local menaces. The colour was slightly different to the images, but I was always planning on painting it a different colour so I wasn't too bothered by that. The floor can be removed easily to give it a clean at the end of the season.It seems sturdy, but time will tell how it lasts out in the elements.

Loved this little timber built bird house. Looks very nice in the garden. Decent quality, & the all important squirrel ring on the front. I bought 3 coloured bird boxes from amazon all different. This was the best of the 3 by a mile and what’s more it’s the only one wich ended up with birds nesting in it (which happened within about 10 days!)

This looks good but the instructions say you have to keep it out of the rain, i thought it was for outside for the birds mmmmmmm.I think it was a bit expensive when you can't use it outside in case it gets wet.

Cute bird box. Pretty sturdy, although it did arrive with one corner of the roof slightly damaged. We put it up in last month and already a pair of bluetits have started nesting in it.The bottom slides out for cleaning at the end of the nesting season.

Bought a blue coloured beach hut bird house for a friend as she had just moved into her new home. She thought this a great house warming present and her husband was delighted with the gift to . It was very well made. The side panel easily opened and closed so that you can clean out the inside of the house once residents have hatched and moved on. Good prompt delivery.
