A master of both composition and of interpretation, Prince was among an elite group of artists who was as comfortable performing his own material as he was covering numbers written by others. This remarkable CD brings together the great man s versions of songs originally written and performed by other musical greats, which Prince played live in concert across his sadly short career. Here's a breakdown of the origins of each track: Track 1: I Believe In You - originally by Graham Central Station - Live At Glam Slam East, Miami, FL, 9th June 1994. Track 2: The Jam - originally by Graham Central Station - Live At Glam Slam East, Miami, FL, 8th June 1994. Track 3: Respect - originally by Otis Redding - Live At The Vicente Calderón Stadium, Madrid, Spain, 22nd July 1990. Track 4: Santana Medley - originally by Santana - Live At Glam Slam East, Miami, FL, 10th June 1994. Track 5: It s Alright - originally by Graham Central Station - Live At Glam Slam East, Miami, FL, 9th June 1994. Track 6: Dr Feelgood (Love Is A Serious Business) - originally by Aretha Franklin - Live At The Maracanã Stadium, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, 18th January 1991. Track 7: Maybe Your Baby - originally by Stevie Wonder - Live At Glam Slam East, Miami, FL, 9th June 1994. Track 8: Ain t No Way - originally by Aretha Franklin - Live At The Maracanã Stadium, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, 18th January 1991. I don't love it. I don't really like Prince
Well, I don't love it. I don't really like Prince. But my partner, who's a total Prince freak, loves it - won't stop listening to it - says she's (happily) surprised I found Prince that she doesn't have and that she likes. So now I get to listen it on a bloody daily basis. Because she really, really likes it.

Purple Reign Cover Up
Purple Reign Cover UpbyRob JonesOh! We miss Prince! However, with his prolific songwriting nature the vaults will no doubt be raided for many more albums to come carrying his name. However, renowned Mr Nelson was for his creativity he was also a sponge and not shy to share his vast array of influences. The 2017 CD set Under the Covers - The Songs he did not Write collates 15 electrifying examples of Prince paying homage to his heroes. These random live tracks fall between 1988 and 1999 - and, show how the purple one can make another act's anthem his own.His compatriots help but at the end of the day this whole package is directed by none other than the Minneapolis magician - and, Prince of course can wander between styles while stamping his authority on the proceedings. A number of songs from a diverse bunch of artists come under scrutiny here, e.g.: Graham Central Station, Otis Redding, Santana, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Henry Mancini, The Temptations, Public Enemy, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Creedence Clearwater Revival and James Brown. This list should create intrigue but then knowing that Prince is the musical Masterchef makes for a regal recipe!Respect, indeed!

Great live release
It caught the atmosphere of Prince being live and lose. After all the hits he would just like jamming showing that he could do everything else from Santana to Chaka Khan....what a collection of great artistry

Great to Have for Diehard Fans
The magic of Prince in concert is captured more-than-adequately on this set spanning bootlegs of concerts from as early as the late 80s. He really was one of the greatest guitar players in the world and there's plenty of evidence here. The sound quality isn't always wonderful, and Rosie Gaines should really apologize for what she did to some Aretha classics, but this is a necessity item for collectors of the Prince discography in it's rareness and the blatant supernova that was Prince in concert even when poorly recorded.
