Works with my wired camera doorbell
Good value. Was easy to install as a replacement for my existing doorbell chime unit. Produces a classic, loud ding-dong sound. 8V integrated transformer is able to power a doorbell camera that requires minimum of 8V, e.g. Simplisafe or Ring wired. Camera is powered and the chime still works when the button is pressed. Note most UK mains powered doorbells have 6v transformers. This door bell will not work with a Blink wired, as that needs minimum 16V supply.

My purchase came without any instructions which I feel is a bit poor for an electrical item that does require electrical wiring
Bought for use with RING WiFi doorbell. Despite comments here suggesting otherwise, this unit works perfectly with a Ring WiFi doorbell and as well as providing a sounder inside the house (the Ring doorbell itself also chimes) this provides a hard wired solution to keeping the doorbell charged up, and therefore eliminating the need to keep removing to charge it via USB. My purchase came without any instructions which I feel is a bit poor for an electrical item that does require electrical wiring connection however simple. I attach a copy of the instructions that I found online in case anyone else needs this. The key bit is that the doorbell wire needs to be connected to terminals 0 and 2 , which is not immediately obvious or intuitive. But once you do that it works fine. It's also worth mentioning that this unit is intended to be wall mounted with the mains supply coming from inside the wall. this means the leads will not be visible but also means you need to channel out the wall if the supply does not already exist. An alternative would be to mount it on a board which would then allow space to put a feeder slot beneath the unit. This is not a problem but I dock one star for the fact this is not explained to potential buyers. Generally very happy with the unit. It only has one "Ding Dong" chime but this is loud and not grating like some of the digital imitations you will come across.

Works perfectly with both original Ring doorbell and Ring 2 doorbell
I didn't like taking the battery out of my Ring doorbell to recharge it every few months so decided to hardwire it. I bought this Byron doorbell chime as it was recommended that it works with the Ring doorbell and has a built-in transformer. I took a feed from a porch light into the transformer and then a feed to the Ring doorbell. I also took a feed to another buzzer at the back of my house. The Byron chime now trickle charges the Ring doorbell. I had a Ring chime which I had loads of problems with, particularly connection to my Wifi, but I now no longer need that. The chime is loud and has a classic ding-dong chime. I was so impressed with it, that when I bought my parents a Ring 2 I hardwired it up for them also using a Byron doorbell chime. So I can confirm this works with both the original Ring doorbell and version 2 of it. Only negative was trying to get the wires into the chime as the holes are at the back of the chime. Once it is flush against the wall you can't feed the wires through it, so I had to cut out a notch using a pliers.

Highly recommended, worked flawlessly with Eufy 2k for me!
I bought this Byron 776 doorbell chime to replace my older hard wired one as part of the process to swap over from an old fashioned doorbell to a modern video doorbell. My old chime only had a 240v>6v transformer and this Byron one was the best deal I could find on a 240v>8v transformers - and I'm pleased to be able to say that it works flawlessly with my new eufy 2k doorbell , keeping it fully charged without having to give it a second thought, whilst still sounding as a normal chime when rung, so it's not a jarring change. I had to cut a section out of the top edge, but doing this meant I could reuse all the existing wiring and get it positioned to even use the same plugged screw holes from my previous - so glad it has a standardised fixing hole options - thank you Byron!

Powers Ring Doorbell. Easy to Install
I bought this unit from Amazon Warehouse, but the one they sent me was totally dead on arrival which was very frustrating. I bought the same unit from another retailer and the device linked up and powered our Ring Doorbell. It was easy to wire up, using our existing bellwire, which is linked to the terminals marked 0 and 2 inside the chime. Mains power runs into the inbuilt transformer and powers to Ring Doorbell via the bellwire. It also means that there is a pleasing white ring around the push button on the Ring Doorbell, which isn't on when it's powered by battery. The Ring Doorbell still links to any existing Ring wireless chimes, but as we have had a Ring for some time, it doesn't actually ring these from time to time, so you miss visitors. Now we have a traditional chime that's far more reliable and delivers constant power to the Ring Doorbell. I have briefly tried this also with the Blink Doorbell we have at a different location. The Blink Doorbell says it requires 16v (this chime is rated at 7 or 8v depending on which documentation you read), but it seems to function as a chime quite happily with the Blink Doorbell. I can't say whether it powers it as well, but it does function as a chime straight out of the box. A couple of negatives... this is not a very loud chime compared to other "ding dong" chimes we've had in the past, so if you have a large house, this might be an issue. Also, the documentation supplied with this unit is woefull and inaccruate. I've had other Byron products in the past and these were the same, so it's not really a surprise, but for a leading manfacturer of doorbell products, it would be nice if they could actually spend ten minutes writing more complete instructions and getting the technical specifications of their own products right! But the bottom line that most will be interested in here is that this is a chime that works with and powers the Ring Doorbell, so on that note, I'm really happy with the purchase (once we got one that worked).

Great Value and Fantastic Quality
Having bought two different types of Hard Wired Bell Units over a period of 3 years, top brand names as well, both failed early within the 13/14 months for one reason or another. I purchased this Byron 230V hard wired wall unit for my mothers house more than a year ago and it's still working 100%. So because I was installing the new Ring Video Door Bell system and I wanted it hard wired, I had to look not only for reliability but a reliable built in transformer. This Byron 230V ticks all the boxes. The main wall unit has space internally for any upgrades you may want or require for the new Ring Video Door Bell or Pro. The transformer within the unit can be easily replaced in the unfortunate event that it fails, although the quality of Byron products are very high and any problems or general help, Byron support is great. Although I haven't had the need to contact them, a friend did and it was resolved first contact. If your looking for a Wired Wall Mounted Chime unit, this is the one and for the new Ring Video Door Bell and or Pro it's a must. I would highly recommend this product great value for money and the unit is fantastic quality.

Not compatible with Ring Pro
Purchased because it says compatible with Ring doorbell that we had just purchased. It is with the old Ring doorbells but the new Ring Pro requires 24v so this will now go in the bin as not fit for purpose! For anyone looking at this with a Ring Pro you need to buy the Ring din enclosure for the transformer that comes with the bell. this will give you the required voltage through to the bell and allow it to connect to your Internet. You will then need to purchase the Ring Chime that just plugs into any socket. For some reason nobody does a Chime box with a 24v output, a huge gap in the market!

good sound, reliable
easy setup, I used it in combination with a friedland button. It works like a charm. Hooked it up to 220V and it worked, not much to it. So much better than a battery powered device

Won't work in USA
Was looking for a bell with built-in transformer, came across this one. Didn't see the fine print that it only works with 220 wiring (UK standard), not 110 (USA standard). My contractor took too long to get around to the installation, now can't return it either. 😩

Einfache Montage!
