I'm very happy with this frankincense, the quality is much better than I thought it would be.I would say the picture is very accurate, you receive some bigger pieces which are darker in colour and smaller pieces which are lighter in colour.When you break open some of the big dark pieces you will find that they are still a little sticky inside...that's a good thing in my opinion, it indicates a certain freshness.Although some of those big dark pieces do have the odd piece of tree bark within them. That can cause a slight smell of burnt wood at times.But don't be put off by what I say, overall the smell is beautiful. It fills the house with a rich zesty aroma. I'm happy to look past the odd bit of tree bark here and there because the overall quality is very good.I think you'll be hard pushed to find a better quality resin for this price, I've tried a few of the cheaper resins and been very disappointed.Nothing really compared to the more expensive Hojari resin that I've had in the past. But this in my opinion is the next best thing.It's also fulfilled by Amazon which means same day or next day delivery is available.So I guess the question you might be wondering is "Would I buy it again?" And the answer is "Yes" I will definitely buy some more of this.What I just purchased will probably last me a year, but I want more of this stuff while its available.I hope this review is helpful to you.

I got around 40 to 50 big lumps of Frankinscents.All the rest was smaller lumps as big as a few mm square.However it's very good quality & I would definitely buy again.I went for the 500gr pack although I will be buying the one kilo pack from now on.The frankincense ranges from 1 inch square lumps on top to powder at the bottom.I am very pleased with the price because other sellers are selling at 3 or 4 pounds sterling for 5 grammes when I paid £25.99 for 500 grammes.Excellent price & excellent quality.It smells like a quality product.I will buy more from this company having bought a lot of frankincense from other brands, this is my favourite purchase by far.It came in a very handy plastic jar also.

There are a lot of blended incenses available, but one of the nice things about the soft, smooth scent of pure Frankincense is that it puts you in touch with history.The first mention of Frankincense is during the reign of the female pharaoh, Hatshepsut, queen of Ancient Egypt (1650 BC.) Hatshepsut commanded sacks of the stuff delivered to the palace, and this is pictured on the walls of her temple. The sacks arrived on the backs of camels.In the Bible it is first heard of in the Book of Exodus. A thousand years later in the New Testament, it was one of the gifts offered by the Three Wise Men to the infant Jesus in the Bethlehem stable. It was definitely something special, a gift for a king.This particular offering of Frankincense is delivered in re-sealable plastic bags, which is convenient. It looks like what it is- fragments of solidified resin, which comes out of the slashed bark of a tree ("Boswellia Carteri"). This kind of tree only grows in a few areas close to the mouth of the Red Sea, sometimes on apparently bare rock, and the trees are declining in number.Some of the lumps are quite big, larger than a bean. You might want to break them into granules, but this isn't necessary, the lumps are a handy size for placing on your burning charcoal. Some of the larger fragments are still shaped like ooze, as it emerged from the tree trunk: when you break them some are slightly gummy inside.(Charcoal is best lit from a candle, and it needs ventilation under it, preferably a holder with a metal grill.)Then all you have to do is watch the smoke rise, relax, breathe the aroma, and think of thousands of years of history as the scent fills the house. Repeat as required.

Not good for me but maybe some ppl like smell

The smell of frankincense is such a holy and calming smell and this is brilliant quality.

A few small pieces and lasts ages, nice aroma too

This frankincense from Somalia I bought previously was one of the best ones I'd tried. It gave very good aroma. Musky, fresh, soothing & very pleasant.But this batch is not only weaker, it sometimes doesn't smell at all or smells of petrol?? Maybe being a natural product, it would vary from batch to batch.The seller is very kind & told me to return it. I didn't return as I'd used a bit, but she gave me a refund anyways. I'll try again in different season, maybe better luck!PS. I'm happy the seller is honest also, many sellers put their prices up after a few good reviews. To me, that's a form of extortionate business. But this seller is very honest & moral. Thank you
