Exhausting but fun
This was bought for my other half and she loves it. She would. She's a girl and a great dancer. Me being your average, boring useless man....Well OK I like it too. To be honest we don't play on it very often now, but it's usually 1 of the 1st games out at parties and kids love it. The only drawback is that you'll be throwing all the doors and windows open within 10 minutes to try and cool down.SUMMARY -Great fun game even for useless dancers like me. A must have for parties.

Best launch title on the Kinect
This is a dance game that really works! Ok, so you're still not really dancing - awkward dancers are still awkward and good dancers still fluid, but pulling the right moves at the right time is a real game and real fun.Everyone who's played this game round my house has got a little addicted to it. It has a similar vibe to Rock Band at parties, though it is a lot more tiring.Good exercise too - I got an achievement for burning 1000 calories :)

Utterly superb game if you live in a ground floor flat or use it downstairs
I've been banned from playing this by the missus. Not just because I probably look utterly ridiculous trying to throw shapes to Lady Gaga, but because it makes our floorboards creak terribly. If you've got plenty of room at home, and you live on the ground floor, Dance Central shows just how talented MTV Harmonix are, and how they've practically reinvented the dance genre with Dance Central.Plenty of content to keep you satisfied as a new Kinect owner, and the tech works astonishingly well.Only drawback is the DLC costs a bit much and it's usually stuff you wouldn't want to dance to anyway.Great game. If you're picking up Kinect this christmas this should definitely be top of your shopping list for a bit of Christmas Day family humiliation.

Great Launch Title
If I start this review by saying I have not actually played it, don't for a minute think anything bad. It's simply I'm a bit old and the bones don't work well, BUT my wife and kids have played it to death since launch and loved it to bits. I will get round to it when my legs don't ache so much from playing Kinnect Adventures! The main fact is that we had the Xbox last Christmas and my wife resolutely has refused to play on it, until we got the Kinect and Dance Central. She's walking a bit funny today, but that's down to a few aches, which shows what a very good workout this is as well.A simple menu system guides you through, you choose a track, you choose Break it Down and learn the moves you need. Get each one right first time and you move on to the next, otherwise you have to 'nail' it three times to go on, or until you obviously cannot get it. The only niggle here is the Slow it Down, Speed it Up and Retry options that come up at the end so you have to stand still. Jiggle about and you might inadvertantly affect it.Once you are ready you can dance the track through. What no one tells you is that the Kinect has its own camera and in the middle of the song you get a Freestyle section where a photo is taken every half second, and if you are well prepared you can create some hysterical footage.Plenty of songs but some new ones already available as DLC.This is a must for Kinect owners, and should stay the course beyond a simple launch title.

So many songs and dance routines to choose from
I bought this for my family...me included. The menus are simple enough and anyone who already knows how to use the Kinect will find all the selections easy enough. I was amazed at the versatility of this game. I had a go at some of the simpler routines, but my son (who is a dancer) opted for the harder levels and really enjoyed himself. On easy, you only get a few dance moves to learn, but they are still challenging. On hard, I noticed there was more choreography to learn, but it's so easy to pick up because the training beforehand is so helpful and well presented. There are so many songs to choose from and I mean LOADS. There is something for everyone, whatever their skill level or taste in music. The Kinect picks you up very easily and the game shows you if you're doing it wrong by making the corresponding body part on the dancer on-screen turn red. After one go, I felt like I'd really worked out. You don't realize how hard you're working and it's a lot of fun.

Ok but technology has moved on now
Dance central 3 is my fave exercise/game and this is in the same style but not as good. Obviously an earlier game so technology has moved on and I'm glad it did. This game has good dance moves, fun to do, but its much harder starting out and the characters and backgrounds aren't great. Also the songs aren't too good either, really limited and hardly any I like. Still, it's fine and ill play it but glad I only paid a fiver!

So very wrong, but so right
Well, I really shouldn't like this as a 41 year old professional :-)This is possibly the greatest party game for people of all ages in the world ever. It works very well after a couple of drinks late at night and almost as well with your children on a sunday afternoon. If you can suspend the embarrassment for a moment and just have fun you'll be fine.Couple of quotes for you:"You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching" (William W. Purkey)"Almost nobody dances sober, unless they happen to be insane." (H.P. Lovecraft)
