The book is very beautiful but would have been much better if it had included floor plans of the buildings it discusses. These are, in my view, fundamental to the understanding of Adam's designs.

I am a huge fan of Robert Adams. Lived and traveled throughout England/Scotland. In the process, really began to appreciate Robert Adam's work, particularly the delicacy of his ceiling plaster work. Introduced my brother to him and we took several trips, focusing on his works. This book does a great job presenting the best of his room designs in many of the great houses. I particularly like that there are detailed photos of the ceilings which were never much featured in the house tourist books. If you are a fan of Adam's work, this book is a must. Purchased one for my brother as Christmas present.
