Doesn't work on Cisco 4742HDC
I don't know if I can fault the extender or the Cisco 4742HDC cable box. we had a simple client request, put cable box in IT closet and extend HDMI and IR out to Display in Lobby. Simple, done this plenty of times. Two different systems throw up HDCP compliance issues, IR won't work. Swapped cable boxes... still no luck.Solution: move the cable box to lobby in some casework and connect directly to display (extend IR). Everything but the IR works. Time Warner cable say to contact Cisco; Cisco says to contact your cable provider for the IR extender. It's a PITA no one stands behind their product or service.Final Solution: client has to open the case work to access the Cisco 4742HDC cable box and change channels.FYI, this unit doesn't appear to work with the Cisco 4742HDC that Time Warner Cable provides in the Northeast.

Does not work with all TVs
This worked with my RCA Class 4034 LED HDTV DVD Combo Model #:LED40G45RQ but not with my Panasonic TC-P54G10 HDTV even though both PVRs are the same.I only gave this product 3 stars because of the cost & size as per my following comment:At the same time, I also ordered another extender which I much prefer because the infra-red eye holder is about 50% smaller & almost inconspicuous when stuck on the edge of a black rimmed TV. It's called the IR Hidden Infrared Remote Extender Receiver Emitter Repeater System sold by Factory Market which I purchased at Amazon for $6.74 almost two-thirds less expensive than this extender ($19.99) I'm reviewing & it works just as well.(http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AMTRR5K/ref=pe_385040_128020140_TE_3p_dp_1).

Just What I Needed
This is perfect. Works just great with my Time Warner box. Recently bought a new 65" TV and a beautiful wine credenza underneath. The box would take away from the clean look, so I ordered this. It is perfect. I put the box in the drawer of the wine cabinet and connected it to the tv through the wall hole we drilled for other cables. Put the discreet 'eye' on the bottom shelf of the wine racks and now I have a beautiful, clean look. No box and no wires. :)

Does work with Rogers 8642HD
This DOES work with a Rogers 8642HD, and they are rumored to be 56 kHz. So, does it do 38 kHz and 56 kHz as the rumor mill says? Well I can't confirm that because I can't confirm what frequency the 8642HD remote uses. All I can say for sure is that this DOES work with a Rogers 8642HD, and that I've heard but cannot confirm, that the 8642HD is 56 kHz. VERY happy with this purchase. Beats a full IR block when I'm only hiding a single device (and no emitters to fight with using one of these instead).

WORKS WITH COX RECEIVER BUT RANGE IS NARROW
WORKS WITH COX RECEIVER BUT RANGE IS NARROW. Have to point my remote directly at this extender in order to get the receiver to change channels. Wish the Infrared eye was wider

Works fine with our equipment
There was some question whether this IR extender would work with my Time Warner Cable STB (Cisco 4742HDC) and remote.(UR5U-8780L-TWY) because of a possibly incorrect IR frequency. After much thought I decided to take a chance. Turns out it works great. Now, with the remote sensor positioned below my wall mounted TV, I can close the cabinet door on the left and hide the STB. Plus, there is no need to point the remote one way to change the channel and another to adjust the volume. Nice.

Great Quality
Great, quality product but it wouldn't work with my cable box. Its a WOW cable box. Quality and shipping service is second to none though.
