Only been in a fortnight so no saving figures but it works

Works well, but is it fit and forget? My predecessor product failed after only 4 years.
This product was bought to replace one that failed. I understood these to be a "fit and forget" type of device. They are very expensive to replace every 4 years despite the water they save. There appears to be no way of fixing them. No service is offered by the manufacturer, and if you take the top off there is no way of reassembling it because you need the sealant that seals top to bottom. While it works it is a good product, not great because there appears to be no way of adjusting the amount of water they let through. The short fail time is a serious drawback. You can increase the 1 year warranty to 3 years if you register it, but 3 years is nothing for this type of product.
