What not to like? Robust metal construction and no rough edges. Quality tethered cable for the data with quality plug at end to attach to motherboard. Easy to push. Fitted in moments and works very well. Screws provided. Much more convenient in its current location than the two in the tower case which are at the very bottom. Speedier transfers too, this being USB-3.2

I already had a similar adapter for front USB 3, and it was a quality brand (Silverstone). This worked well with most USB 3 devices like SD card readers, cameras and smartphones. But they don't draw the maximum current/power from the PC. When I purchased a Blu-ray drive (Verbatim brand) I found that the Silverstone adapter could not supply sufficient power for the drive to work correctly. It would begin to spin up to full speed and suddenly make a "clunk" sound and stop, pause for 20-30 seconds before spinning up again, only for the whole process to repeat. This made ripping movies to the PC many times slower than it should be. I replaced the Silverstone adapter with an inexpensive unbranded adapter. Seemed like good quality for the price, but same problem. Then I purchased this product and the Blu-ray drive spins up to full speed for long periods with no problem. Ripping movies to the PC is much faster. Like other reviewers, I found it was a very tight fit and took quite some force to get it into the bay, so much that it scratched some of the black paint off the adapter, but not in a visible way. This is the only reason for the loss of a star. Otherwise great quality, and as a bonus can mount a single 2.5" SSD or HDD drive (9.5mm height ok but maybe not 14mm, but they are very rare anyway).

This arrived in a simple flip top box with the cables connected ready to go, I have USB 3.0 ports on my desktop PC but as is often the case the ports are on the back of the machine, there are only two and not easily accessible. On the front of the machine I have two USB 2.0 ports, these are fine for connecting my wireless keyboard and mouse but often I want/need additional ports and to transfer data from either my camera, GoPro, USB 3.0 stick or portable SSD drive and have been putting off adding additional ports far too long hence this purchase. First thing I did was power down my desktop PC, remove the power supply and purge remaining power. I also purchased a StarTech drive bay as my desktop PC has plain frontage so considered it would blend in well, look stock fitted and save me having to cut and fit an existing front panel. Fitting was fairly straight forward first securing the 3.5 inch USB 3.0 drive panel into the drive bay (all screws supplied) then removing the existing front panel, feeding the cable through and securing the drive bay in place. I then plugged the cable into the motherboard, closed everything up and powered my PC back on, everything worked fine all instantly recognised with no issues at all. Overall a simple fix to add additional USB 3.0 ports to the front of a desktop PC, the quality is good for the budget price and they do their intended job perfectly. I have added a picture of the port you need to have on the motherboard you are using to be able to use this.

I bought this together with the "Dodocool 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI-E Express Card HUB Controller Adapter Card Internal 20Pin 4Pin IDE VLI Chipset Solid Capacitors", which is the PCI-E to USB-3 Card,so I have 2 ports on the front as well as the back. The cable is long enough to stretch from the front of my very large tower case to the back at the bottom, which was a worry when I ordered it, but all is good. It comes with 8 little screws to mount it in the drive-bay if needed. It works great. I have a USB 3.0 Card reader and I can read off a 64GB TF card in 20mins instead of the 1 hour 20 mins that it used to take on USB2.0 Well worth buying to get extra speed for external hard disks, card readers or other stuff - even seems to download photos off my Samsung Galaxy S8 faster

Fits into what is an old floppy drive size slot , I don't know why cases still have them but its useful. Fitting was easy using the included screws . Simply plug into the motherboard USB3 header and it just works . Its that simple. Speed is excellent , as good as the built in rear sockets For the price it was a vey good buy , well worth the price

My comments here refer to CSL - USB 3.0 Super Speed Front Panel for 3.5 inch drives. Fast delivery and nicely packaged. Easy to install into the front of my PC case with it's decent metal chassis, although the screws seemed to need very precise alignment before they would engage (maybe it's my ageing eyesight and fingers)! Then, I went to plug it in to the spare USB 3.0 port on my motherboard. It wouldn't plug in...... Pulled out a magnifying glass and had a close look at the connector - one of the pin holes was blocked, presumably the machine that created the connector had a problem. A bit of surgery with a small jeweller's screwdriver sorted it out! Booted the PC and it worked immediately on my Win10 installation. I noticed that another reviewer also had the same problem, so I suggest anyone purchasing this checks the socket for blockages before they try installation in case they damage their motherboard connector.

Bought CSL products before....always been good. This however was not so good. Build a bit cheap and nasty. Ill fitting cable to the motherboard and then one of the sockets stopped working. Not a good experience.
