Mini Whistle Premium Emergency Whistle by Outmate-H62 Brass Loud Version EDC Tools

Although I had already bought a different whistle from another company, I purchased this one because of the smaller size. It’s about the size of a triple A battery, so it won’t be too cumbersome to carry on a keychain. I don’t go camping nor do I work as a football coach, but I do know that in many cases having one of these is more handy than yelling when needing help or in other situations.They’re loud enough to be heard from a certain distance. Nevertheless, it is not as loud as others whistles that I tried if we want to be picky. They do their job fairly well at least for my needs.One the things that may notice is that the whistle is made of a heavy duty metal. You can feel the weight, which is something that makes it very durable against any damage. However, if you’re worried about that, you might want to consider getting an aluminum whistle, or even one made out of titanium. The latter is a stronger metal which is at the same time much lighter than steel, but of course you have to fork out a little more money.That being said, I have to point out a big flaw in this product. The metal ring attached to the whistle is really flimsy as it came off of my keychain very easily. Fortunately it was inside my pocket when I noticed, otherwise I would have lost it. When I pulled the keychain out of my pocket, the metal ring opened up just enough for my keys to come off. I had to use my pliers to put the tips back together again. I don’t expect it to last much longer. I guess I’ll have to find a replacement for the metal ring. Be aware of this.

It is a good whistle.There is only one (and a half) reasons I would not recommend it, see below.It is as loud as one can hope for with human lungs. Not sure if louder whistles are available. If yes, I would prefer them, given they meet other requirements of size, weight and durability. This is the 1/2 the reason mentioned above.It is plenty small to go on my keychain, which was the idea from start, to have one with me at all times.I feel it should be very durable.There is the one reason I would not recommend it: it weighs a bit too much. I thought it would be ok. It kind of is. But after placing it on my key chain, I think that I would rather get aluminum one, about 0.35oz, 10grams, , also available. Or, for people who like the best, titanium one, also available.

I got this because I thought the brass looked cool and wanted a whistle for camping. The closure on it is stupid and it's heavy. It fell off my keyring and I haven't seen it since. Ended up getting a pair of cheap plastic howler whistles that weigh nothing and I would never go back. If you like the aesthetics, get it. But it's not a practical purchase

3 inches Mini Brass Whistle compact, and very useful. Great when walking on unknown trails, scaring animals and Large dogs, owls and unfamiliar people. This is Great for 2021! Instead of yelling and blowing up bottle caps for the New Year!

I work in a pretty unsafe environment and these little suckers are perfect. They are loud and durable and slender, perfect for a key chain. I passed them to a couple of friends and they are ordering them, too. The only thing is, you may want to solder the brass jump ring or put a new one on, brass is kind of soft. But that shouldn't deter you from buying these little things. They are perfect. I think the other reviewers were talking about something else because these are wonderful

I use this when we go hiking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It’s “very” high pitched. I use it to alert bears that we are coming. I lost my first one during a rain storm we got caught in and I couldn’t live without another one! Highly recommended its solid and extremely durable. I hook mine on my jacket!

Presents for all the women in my life. Nothing like a loud whistle to attract attention when needed. Will work downtown on a dimly lit street or on a trail when the realization that one is lost sinks in. Well made of solid brass, small enough to carry on a keychain ready for use. Loud...did I say loud? Don't test it inside.I've bought a total of six of these. Great stocking stuffers!

sounds very loud to me when I blow on it, but my hiking buddy said it sounded like a bird, not a loud whistle from a short distance away. So not really what I intended to use it for (calling for help while hiking), but would it would startle an attacker up close.

Whistle comes exactly as described. Great little whistle for hiking or survival. I bought mine to call my dog back to me when he's at a distance. It is loud! The only negative things I would say would be, you can taste the brass so if that's something you might not like maybe go with something different. Also it's meant to be blown into with a little force to get the tone. If you try to blow real lightly it doesn't create the sharp tone as well. So if you need a whistle that has different ranges, this may not be the one for you. For me, I liked the the look of it. It can be worn like a piece of jewelry and you won't look like a gym teacher if you forget you have it on. For me the taste of brass is no big deal, I only use it for a quick signal and don't keep it held in my mouth long enough. It has a loud and sharp tone gets my dogs attention and that's all I need. Would definatly buy this whistle again.

I like these whitles they are perfect size and are great when I am out walking along a trai especially since here in Canada we are not allowd to carry pepper spray for protection so these are great. I also gave some to my female friends for their protection.

This whistle is quite loud. It is also quite attractive. I bought this whistle for survival in the city; if I feel threatened, I'll use it and hope the sound will scare off an assaulter or, at the very least, get the attention of others.I also live in the country and feel it could be useful in scaring off coyotes or wolves, perhaps even bears.

One of my best Amazon purchases in a while. The whistle is extremely loud, a good weight, and surprisingly attractive. The all metal design put me at ease as I feared any whistle or alarm with plastic parts would fail somehow.I bought these for personal protection — my partner walks home at night, as does his coworkers. I kept one for myself, and gave the other three away to loved ones.This whistle is surprisingly loud to the point where you can really feel it in your ears, almost like your ears are popping from an altitude change — meaning do not play around with this whistle.On the flip side, I can see this whistle being a decent deterrent to anyone you may need to use it against. It can confidently say it will, at minimum, disorient the threat long enough for you to run away.10/10 Would buy again, and planning on it.
