Best Headphones I've used, good audio and build quality, structurally tough, material not so much
Purchased: 11 March 2017 for £125. From seller: Inta-AudioThis is my opinion on the headphones, I don't really mention specs, just how I get on with them. I've had them for over a year now, and they are still great. The ATH-M50X are my first foray into headphones of any discernible quality, prior to these, I had used a plethora of questionable quality "gaming" headphones and cheap earphones. Therefore anyone that says "these headphones aren't as good as 'X'" These are the best I have used to date, I haven't used 'X' headphones. And honestly at this point with the improvement going from what I had experienced previously to these, I can't imagine how much improvement there can be, it's surely diminishing returns at this point for price vs quality. My last headphones were the QPAD QH-90 which are fundamentally the same headphones as the HyperX Cloud, just with manufacturer branding and perhaps an inferior microphone? There may be one or two other differences but specification wise they are pretty much identical though last time I looked any of it up was over a year ago.As I like to watch films and series, listen to music and play PC games I opted to get the ATH-M50X and a lavalier microphone for £7.99. I would also recommend if you want to do this, to make sure you check the connector type, i.e. a TRRS connector works with mobile phones, and probably won't work with your computer's microphone port without a TRRS to TRS adaptor, so make sure you order a mic with the correct Jack or get an adaptor. You can get a pretty good lavalier mic for not very much, better than any mic on a generic gaming headset anyway.I'd returned my QPAD QH-90 headphones a couple times within warranty because they kept breaking, I believe the issue was that the wire going into them kept breaking internally as the wire was rubbery in a way that meant they were high friction so if I got up and put the headphones down, if my leg brushed past the wire they would be pulled from where ever I had put them.So because of presuming the wire was the issue I wanted to get some headphones with removable wires to stop the wire breaking, however the wires on the ATH-M50X have a non-sticky surface, this low friction means they just brush past things with ease, rather than being violently pulled away from where ever they have been placed, which has solved one thing invalidating my original issue, brilliant!TL:DR: Great sound and build for the price, removable wires of different lengths, folds up...Edit: Added images from August 2019. And in August 2019 one of the ear pads started to wear (as shown close up in one of the images).I don't necessarily wear them every day. But there have been times I've worn them 8+ hours a day everyday for a week. So, other than, I imagine I'll soon have to replace the ear pads (though people complain about replacement pads ruining the sound) or use the secondary ones that come with the headphones (not sure about velvet, I like the leather style ones). They're doing pretty good, I've had no issues. Survived a handful of 1m drops from my desk, that's the worst abuse they've received other than being attached to my head.More recently starting in 2020 the ear pads have worn more exponentially. Will add additional pictures soon.2020 March Update: Added pictures of my headphones now, these are the pictures with my keyboard in the background. To be fair, they lasted a solid 2 and a half years before they started to show wear, in my august 2019 update, and since then have deteriorated further, it's just a limitation of the material. Other than occasionally depositing 1 or 2 chunks of black pad material on my face when I use them, the headphones are still great.

Simply brilliant.
Quite frankly the best headphones I've ever owned, and probably used. They do away with the unnecessary aesthetic frills which quite often plague higher end headphones and instead focus on the audio quality, which is of course fantastic. I immediately heard details in my music which I had been unable to hear on other headphones.I use these on my commute and all day at work, which altogether amounts to about 8 or 9 hours of wear every day. Never have these headphones felt uncomfortable or sweaty, so rest assured they are most definitely suitable for extended listening periods. The accessories provided with the headphones are of high quality and provide a great deal of versatility. I also love how they can be folded away into a relatively small package. The only thing I would ask you to consider is how important noise cancelling is to you. These do not at all cancel sound - as I was fully aware of - and so music can occasionally be drowned out if the ambient noise is excessive.I can't recommend these enough. Get the matte grey version - they look much more premium!

End-game headphones.
Listen to everyone! These headphones are as good as people say they are, at first I was very skeptical about getting these as many people were saying that they were not meant to be used for gaming or casual wear as they were specifically studio monitoring. Although people said this I still thought they were worth a try and oh my goodness. When I say these are the best headphones I have ever tried, believe me.I'm not an audiophile, i'm just an average ex Beats & Monster DNA user and thought to go for something other than bass focused to enjoy my music and play my games on. I've realised now that truly good sound is not focused but it is varied through highs lows and mids. Experiencing the beautiful sound out of the 45 mm large-aperture drivers for the first time was a mind blowing experience for me that more people need to hear for themselves. The rotation of the ear cups are 90 degrees which are more than enough unless your ears are U shaped. I have worn these for hours upon end and even forgot they were on my head at times due to comfort. On top of this, they look stylish to wear with the sleek matte grey finish and beautiful centred logo. The bass is not as booming as beats but it still packs a nice punch. This believe it or not i advantageous as it allows for a more naturalistic experience to hear everything within the song, just like the artist intended. To summarise, I would recommend these headphones to anyone who is searching for an all-rounded good quality set of cans. They'll make you appreciate the sounds that you couldn't before :).

AMAZING but the BASS!
The build quality of the headphones is amazing! The headphones and the cables, which come with it, are very sturdy. In terms of audio quality, you cannot complain, amazing high's and mid's. However, I do have to say that the bass could be a little louder and thicker. Overall, an amazing pair of headphones for a price, which you cannot beat!

Absolutely Superb
I've owned these for almost a year now, and, if like me, you have a superior taste in music then these are the headphones for you. I can't tell you how many times I have air guitared my way to 3 AM on a work night whilst listening to AC/DC. The quality just brings you in and spurs you up for another song, and volume wise they laugh in the face of the EU's recommended sound limit. If that isn't good enough for you then maybe the noise cancellation will be. When wearing these babies I can't hear the benefits stealing, drug trafficking, devil spawning primitives next door. They are comfortable to wear and light enough for long periods of headbanging.Last, but certainly not least, they look good. Very good. I personally recommend the matte grey.

Awesome sound and great build quality for the price!
Got these headphones for ₹9150. Been using it for over a year now and I don't think there's any other headphone that sounds better than the ATH-M50xs under the ₹10k budget. The build quality is great and the metal grey version looks really awesome. They come with a carrying case and 3 detachable cables that are really thick and are very durable. There's a 1.2m cable, a 3m cable and a 3m coiled cable in the box. I would've liked if one of them had a microphone or if Audio-Technica provided an option to buy a separate cable with a microphone. The carrying case doesn't provide any protection, but that's okay since the ATH-M50xs are built really well. They come with swiveling earcups and can be laid flat on your chest when not in use, which make them great for commuting. The sound signature of these headphones is balanced and rich with just the right amount of bass. They block the outside noise quite well but the sound leaks outside on high volumes. They sound amazing and once you try them, you'll believe that all the hype surrounding them is real. The only complaint I have with them is that they're not the most comfortable pair of headphones. They do a great job if you're listening to them for an hour or two, but for long listening sessions, I would recommend replacing the ear pads with more comfortable ones that can easily be found online. Also, the ear cups get quite warm and become uncomfortable during summers but on the other hand, feel great during winters as they keep your ears warm. Also, the earcups provide a really secure and tight fit which is awesome, but if you wear glasses, then they may make you look weird as they press against your ears. In conclusion, I recommend them if you're looking for a flat sounding headphones.

Great Headphones
All round great headphones. A tad uncomfortable for extended use and need a good strong signal but otherwise are amazing. I use them to DJ with as well as during subway travel.

Read This Review - I Spent SO much time! in hopes of helping you! I think I answer many questions, but ask me any I missed!
The Matte-Grey Limited Edition is worth paying a little more. I own both the original M50x and recently purchased this pair to have the same headphones with the best sound quality for recording and producing music for multiple to hear the same pure, clear sound produced through these headphones.I am 29, married and did not think I cared anymore about how I look. I recently took the Matte-Grey on the plane, sounded great. I noticed how good looking this pair are, and it feels good in public; I won't lie, much better than the originals. I realized that they are cool looking when we landed in Austin, I had multiple dudes IN THE BATHROOM ask me what headphones were around my neck. They REALLY wanted to know, asking me in the restroom. Then I was able to tell them the best part, how they have arguably the best sound quality of any headphone I have experienced.I have had Beats Studio & the new Wireless, Bose 15's and the quiet comforts, Samsungs Level Over-ears, and other far more expensive headphones and for the quality of sound, these are the best. If wearing Beats because you feel good rocking them, then do what you prefer. If you fly on an airplane at least 100 times a year, and it's worth the Bose Quiet Comforts, I am not going to knock you for it.NOW the CONS: The price is unusually fair if not more on the consumer side, sound can't be matched BUT I would love them to add two features. First is a cord with phone control/ability to change song and volume. The second is for anyone who has been told they have a large head, like myself they are a bit snug which becomes uncomfortable after an hour or two. I have recently learned that they will "break in" and become very comfortable to wear for hours on end. Besides those two things for the price, the Audio-Tecnica's are amazing.
