Science Museum Doodling Robot

It took me quite a while to assemble this doodle-bug. My 9 year old granddaughter took one look and handed the pack of parts to me.What took the time was a serious mistake in the product’s otherwise well produced illustrations.To help other grandparents: the motor assembly is illustrated the wrong way around in the instructions. In fact it will not matter which way round it is assembled as long as the red wire goes to red and the black to black!If the motor is positioned as per the instructions the red and black wires will have to cross over to the opposite terminal.All this should make more sense with the assembly in front of you.With this in mind, don’t worry it’s relatively easy to assemble with the correct cross-thread screwdriver.Good luck

This was a gift for a science minded 12 year old.But he apparently had problems assembling it,so it hasn’t worked asadvertised.

Christmas present for our 7-year-old Grandson, probably a little too young, as got bored halfway through building. Also, the clear plastic cover for the top was missing. Overall, fun to use. Make sure you use the floor or a large surface that is covered with paper, as it moves quickly and can get very messy. Great robot though.

The robot was fun to build but has limited appeal once constructed.

My nephew loves it! Ita a great piece of kit for learning about circuits, and fun to watch too.
