Jack Wolfskin Women's Mantel Iceguard Coat

Overall I am very happy with this purchase. It is ideal for cold blustery weather and is a good fit (knee length on me, with room for a jumper underneath.) The quality is good overall, although the zip could be sturdier for a coat of this type. Similarly the popper fastenings are small and fiddly. For me, the hood is not a snug fit, but ok when a hat is worn as well. The main reason for choosing this coat was to avoid duck down, which is produced cruelly, and as yet there is not a big choice of affordable quality synthetic down coats.

The coat is amazingly lightweight warm and comfortable and the zip off hood is a really good idea. Although I'd never had a problem with sleeve length on coats, jackets etc., before I did find the sleeves too long. Before ordering the coat I had read about some problems with the poppers and when I received it they appeared to be a plastic material and be a problem to fix if they broke so I decided to return it.

This coat will keep you lovely and warm even when there's quite a strong cold wind blowing. It's relatively lightweight, which makes it a comfortable wear. My only quibble (and the reason for 4 rather than 5 starts) is with the zips, which seem a little flimsy for a coat and keep catching in the surrounding fabric.

This is possibly not the best looking coat, it seems a bit big on the upper arms and it doesn't tuck in at the waist....but it is very warm! I was sceptical that a coat that was so thin would be warm, but I've been toasty in it, it is so wind proof. The length is perfect and the hood is a great size (and adjustable). Pockets are roomy and easily accessible. I've not been out for extended periods in the rain, but during brief outings it has been water proof.

I was counting on this coat to keep me warm even on cooler days with -10 degrees and it has lived to my expectations!!!I am usually size 8/ S-M for sweaters/38 for blazers. But I bought the size XS as everyone said to size down. And i did well.The only issue i can find is that The upper arms of the jacket are a bit weird, they look a bit bulky.The zipper is 67 cm long. But the jacket measures 91cm.Overall i am pleased with this jacket.And the delivery was excellent. I am from Romania. I ordered the coat via expedite on Saturday evening and by Tuesday afternoon it was already delivered. So money well spent!

Bought this coat to replace a older version of the same coat which I loved. Searched for a long time to find it cause I loved everything about my old one which I had for about 6 years. I have worn the new one for a few months now. Initially loved it too but now the bottom two buttons have broken :-( I will now have to buy buttons to sew on cause there is no way of replacing the plastic ones. They are worse quality than the ones in my original coat.

This is my second Jack Wolfskin Iceguard coat, I have two different colours! This is a fantastic coat with everything I require for the winter weather. It is lovely and warm and the length is perfect to keep you nice and toasty. The styling is perfect in my opinion. Not too fitted, just very comfortable, practical and good looking too. I am size 14/16 so I bought Large size and the fit is good for me even when I am wearing a thicker jumper. I love this coat and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again!

Love the coat so light wait but lovely and warm also kept me dry during heavy rain. It’s just the zip it’s quite a pain sometimes, because of the double zip if you don’t get it in right it won’t do up.
