Quality for Cheap
The first thing I need to express is the enjoyment of getting a Mad Catz product for this price... feels awesome. The mouse can be re-adjusted using the back plate to suit any hand size, AND that's all you need. My friend owns a R.A.T.7 and all those parts fade away with the excitement of the first day. You don't need that much to go with the PRO X. Believe me this is all you need! So, as material, it's all plastic, BUT matte plastic, so the looks and esthetics is still breath taking (people first tend to ask me what this is until they find out it's just a mouse :). And because there's no metal, the mouse just feels, not light, but inexistant! When I'm using it, it feels like I'm only moving my hand around, and not carrying an object with it. Which for me is great, because it's not tiring, and your hand remains more relaxed after extended usage compared to other mice. (The light feel might be a let-down for some, but I really like it). Thus, software -> good, usage -> excellent, design & looks -> breathtaking!Definitely recommend it. (Plus, optical sensor... You can't go wrong)

good little mouse, alittle light though.....
after 15 years my my previous r.a.t pro decided to give up. probably the cable and solder points, but i wasn't going to break it open to fix it. so i bought this one, it's shorter, but it is adjustable in length, great mouse , accurate, but the silver button on the top is easily knocked and you could gain or lose movement suddenly, the button on the side is great when sniping.the only downside is that it's alittle lighter compaired to my older one, no weight to it. which may be a downer for some gamers that love a bit of weight in their hands. well worth it for under £50....

Good mouse for general usuage. works on linux
I purchased two of these while it was on large offer and have used for a number of weeks.I dont game but like the higher sensitivity so make smaller hand movements to move the cursor. It is a very smooth mouse and feels nice and relaxed in the hand. I have large hands and this can accomadate for that .I use it on linux (back and forward buttons work without configuring) and my son uses it on windows. and it is accurate and precise. There is an annoyance though which loses it the fifth star and that is when not in use sometimes the cursor will hover slowly to the upper left corner, I think this make be just the weight of the USB cable pulling it ever so slightly but even so the mouse should be designed to avoid this.

it is comfortable to use for extended periods
Very light mouse that I believe was made for using in tournaments. It is very smooth on the mouse mat and because its light, it is comfortable to use for extended periods. It has a kind of rubberized coating as well so it will not slip from your grip, and the rear palm rest is extendable. The software took seconds to download, (obviously depending on your internet connection), but it is not a large file. Its easy to use and adjust, and it can be customised with different profiles. I have not gone into this in any depth yet though.I would recommend this mouse for gaming, or even everyday use if you like something that's light and comfortable.

it did not find it comfortable in my hand
It's the lightest Mouse i have ever used,it did not find it comfortable in my hand. The location of the buttons are ok, but not the best.It has good dpi but it is not Compatable with Arch linux, but saying that i have had a few Mad Catz Mice and none of them worked with Arch,i would not recogmend anything to anybody make up your own mind!!,you might find it good for you

AVOID!!!
The worst. When I've placed the order I was expecting that the mouse is like the normal R.A.T. 7s, but with better sensor. However, what I received is not even close to the older, not the pro ones. Normal RAT 7 have metal base and are made out of thick plastic. You also receive some extra parts so you can adjust the size of the mouse and some extra weighs to make it heavier. THIS MOUSE HAS NOTHING LIKE THAT!. It is made wholly out of light, thin plastic so it feels cheap; it cannot be adjusted at all as there is no spare parts; and because it is so light the mouse cord actually can move the mouse so there is no accuracy. You can be playing an fps game and the cursor (crosshair) may start moving to any direction just because the cord has moved and so moved the mouse.TL;DR don't buy it, cheap plastic with sensor attached to it and no accuracy.

Top quality gaming mouse. I wouldn't choose anything else
What a fantastic mouse! I've read that people managed to pick it up for £20. That's a steal! I had to pay £50 but i still don't regret it. Maybe it's because madcatz went bust? I can't work out why though with the quality of this product. It's simply awesome. I've also had a modern warfare 2 xbox 360 controller from them in the past and again that was amazing! Some of my favourite products on the market. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Only downside is that there's no support offered on their website anymore....But the driver auto downloads through windows and if you want the customising software, i found the link on a youtube video and downloaded it 3rd party from there. It's lovely being able to customise each press of the DPI button to whatever DPI setting you want. The same goes for the precision aim. Although sadly this can't be changed from a precision aim button though. I wanted a 3rd optional button but alasEDIT: 32 months down the line and one of the LED's in the dpi indicator has stopped working but that's just an aesthetic thing. It still has full functionality and if i were to ever replace it, it would be for another R.A.T. pro S

Great
Good looking mouse, and really precise for gaming. the slow dpi button is surprisingly useful, and the "different sizes" enabled by the mouse is great for travelling and make it comfortable to use.The braided cable is a bit flashy but is really durable, so nothing to complain really.
