Plan Toys Beehives

The delivery man had lobbed the package over the fence but thankfully amazon packing is so good the box, and everything inside, remained intact! The product comes in a nice compact box, which will be fine to store it in in the toy box.I opened it up to have a look today and the product is a nice size, perfect for little hands. I used the pincers myself; they are easy to handle (none of this fabled wobbling) and with the size of the bees and hives, it is spacious enough to easily put the bees in and out using the pincers or fingers.I think this toy has a great number of play opportunities - colours, counting, stacking, patterns, sorting, nature themes...As a wooden toy it looks pretty robust, the paintwork is lovely and the bees wings are made of soft felt, so I think it will survive well in terms of toddler wear and tear.I'm sure my son will love it, and I have already talked about the product with my friend who runs a toddler group - she is a massive fan of traditional and unusual wooden toys and the kids at her group love things like this.

I’ve wanted to buy this for my boys for ages, I saw it went down to £20 and amazon gave me a £5 voucher for my youngest’s birthday so I got a bargain, I’ve seen them go for 20 second hand! Both my almost 5 yo and 2yo love this toy. It looks so simple and like there would be limited play value but there are so many ways to play with it... put bees in, take bees out, matching colours, arranging the hives in a formation to match the ones suggested in the leaflet, stacking, turn them upside down to play find the bee or a memory game etc so many possibilities! Beautifully made with lovely strong colours and no plastic.

I love Plan toys, their quality, eco manufacturing methods, and especially their unique texture and colours. This is my second purchase of these bees. First purchase was a gift for my three year old niece in hospital, but they are now a firm favorite of her seven year old sister too. I purchased again for my one year old, though he still too little (he tried to put bee straight in his mouth, so bee's are confiscated for now). Still such a versatile, open ended toy for colour matching, sorting, stacking, fine motor skills, imaginative play and a whole host of other possibilities. Would highly recommend.

My daughter (not yet two) absolutely loves these. Really encourages free play and thinking. She stacks the cups, knocks them down, hides the bees, counts them, matches the colours... they are good quality, well made and vibrant. The little bees are very appealing. Plenty of mileage in this toy!

Really appealing and good for colour matching, counting, fine motor skills. Tweezers definitely for the three plus group.

This is a fantastic educational toy that has helped my little boy learn his colours, and also help develop his fine motor skills. Would highly recommend that you supervise closely though as the bees are literally the same shape and size as a grape, definitely wouldn’t be good if swallowed! Very well made, colourful and they use sustainable wood so it’s a win win!

Bought for Christmas so not taken any photos. Have had a look and it's lovely quality. The bees are small but this will be a supervised game with my toddler so I'm not concerned about that. Very pleased with it and looking forward to giving as a gift.

Love this you, as with most plan toys, it is built well. Comes well packaged. And our kids love it. It's great for fine motor skills and colour matching. It also offers us an opportunity to discuss bees, how they live and the importance of their role in our lives.
