Epson Expression Home XP-442 All-in-One Wi-Fi Printer - Black (Old Model)

review for the Epson XP442 - bought as replacement for 8 year old EPSON that finally died after years of abuse by children. - This printer is just the job. Incredible price. Set up is straight forward - you do not need the any instructions. - Easy to set up to home wifi and up and running within 5 minutes from opening the box. - print from any device / by email from anywhere. - cartridges are expensive if you buy epson originals but my previous one i used 3rd party cartridges at 1/10 of the price from the word go and had no problems.

Really good value printer/scanner and copier.Esay to set up - even for a technophobe like me! Looking forward to printing out some recent photographs which I couldn't do on my old printer. Very compact, excellen value for money and only need to replace usedl ink cartridges, a all the colours have separate cartridges.Really speedy delivery too and well packaged.

So far I've been very pleased with my Epson printer.. which I bought to replace my 10 year old predecessor (as it had become really unreliable)This printer has loads of great features and connectivity options - wifi and cloud printing support mean I can connect phones iPads laptops from anywhere in order to easily printIt also has USB cable and ad card connections if wifi isn't good for youAs others have said, the only drawback to this (and modern printers in general) is the relatively expensive printer ink costs.. which aren't really avoidable in my opinion). Having said that this printer does come with a range of printing options to help save/reduce ink consumption.. for example "draft" and grey scale printing options - which can really helpOverall I am very happy with this printer - its very capable for the price

My second Epson, the first being a giant of a machine that whilst temperamental and requiring a certain amount of coaxing has been a gem for over 17 years. Out of the box looked rather fragile in comparison but easy to load inks, no problems with paper feed and very straightforward to link to my mobile devices. Print quality excellent and wireless for me has worked seamlessly. Wish I had bought one years ago as has really made life easy. Copy quality very high.

I did find it took quite a long time to install and was more complicated than my last Epson printer. Also it is slow to start printing after pressing the OK button. I was surprised that it would not print both sides of a page unless you manually did it, which means you cannot print more than one page at a time and have to get ready to stop it if you are printing a long document.. Apart from that the printing comes out clearly and up to now the ink provided with the printer is lasting well.

I bought this as a replacement for a previous Epson printer which I had for a number of years, and upgraded a little to this model , easy to install and set up wireless printing using cd provided. Excellent printing and photos, only draw back , inks a little bit more expensive but I am sure that Epson know what I will do if they do not lower price, entirely there choice

DO NOT BUY! Here's what I've learned after 6 months of use...This printer misreports the ink level to force you to purchase more cartridges, reporting empty with as much as 25% ink left. You may think that the ink cartridges are cheap enough for you to just "take the hit" but in actual fact these are very low capacity cartridges to begin with, my first printed a grand total of 46 pages of normal black and white text with some colour graphs (including the compulsory test pages) before reporting the black ink cartridge was empty. I've kept track and Subsequent cartridges have never exceeded 40 pages of normal text and graphs/charts. The ink also dries out once installed in the printer and cannot be recovered for love nor money, even following the usual guidance on the usual tech sites.From what I've printed so far and the ink levels displayed, and what I've spent on replacement ink, it seems that this printer is printing overall at least 24 pence per page, not good at all.In addition to this, unlike other printers, this model does not allow you to print in black & white or grayscale by substituting colour ink for black. Instead the printer will not allow printing at all until the cartridge is fully replaced, so you're out of luck if you need to print in a hurry and don't have replacements to hand. There are no options anywhere that will allow you to circumvent this.I was fairly content to keep spending inordinate amounts on replacement ink, assuming this was normal, until asking friends about their experiences with the Lexmark and Canon printers they have that cost them about 25% - 30% more than this Epson XP-442 cost me, but which print at less than 20% the cost per page that the Epson XP-442 offers. I will be replacing my Epson with a Lexmark immediately.It might be priced as a mid-range printer, but realistically it's a very low end machine with firmware limitations built in to ensure you're maximally profitable to Epson, more so than any other manufacturer it seems (or, anecdotally, at least 5 times more so than both the Lexmark and Canon printers I compared this to in the same price range). In summary, buy cheap buy twice... And this Epson isn't really that cheap so really it's "buy Epson, buy twice" in this case.

Très bien bonne imprimante.. le seul petit défaut c'est qu'elle use pas mal d'encre et le scanner il faut impérativement avoir carte memoire pour scanner 1 document.
