Highly Recommended system. From delivery to set up within 10 minutes!
I don't normally write reviews but feel compelled to after purchasing this. Note - this review is largely on set up and testing recordings and not over a sustained period of time. I have a 3 camera set up - all within 10/15 metres of the hub, all wall mounted externally. My reason for purchase is to deter/catch an ongoing state of vandalism to cars in our area.Pros.- The big win for this product is the fact that is totally wireless. I researched many CCTV systems and for the cost (c.£360 for 3 camera set up), what you get is extremely good value. I am an experienced DIYer but not having to punch out holes all over the place for power/video cables is a big plus.- Set up - is a breeze. Plug in 'hub' into your internet router via. ethernet and sync cameras by pressing a button. From box to synced cameras took literally 5 minutes.- Video quality - in daylight is superb. Night video is very good too - I have yet to see the full capability at night (which I would imagine is where 95% of any key 'detecting' will take place!). Initial results are very good - I have a security light positioned about 8 feet below one camera and it seems to adjust to quick changes in light levels- Recording - people have commented already but this, by default, is NOT a continuously fed system. i.e. will only record on motion activation due to it being battery powered. You can however, via the app/website, login to your account to activate any camera 'live feed' and manually record both video and picture but this will add strain to the batteries.- Monitoring - I have used both app and Arlo website (you create an account to do this). Both are easy to use - its here that you can tailor when/how long/the brightness of each camera. For now I have set up all cameras to record for 30 seconds when motion is detected. Sensitivity is set to 90% - at 100% I found rain/lights opposite started to trigger recordings. Note you have 1GB/7 days worth of storage (or time to view/download wanted recordings).- Storage - all goes to the cloud in near real time so no worries about it not recording (or god forbid someone breaks in and therefore can steal the recording device!)Cons- Around 4 second lag in stream (this will vary dependant on internet speed - I average 20mps download). This is more useful to know if you have alerts set up - I have push notifications set up so when motion is detected I receive push to my iPhone - I have tested about a 20 second lag between event to notification on phone. This isnt that long at all but it helps set expectation. For my reason to purchase (i.e. car vandalism) this may prove too late for me to catch anyone doing it!- Brackets that come with it are magnetic - I used one of these for a centrally mounted camera at rear. For ones at front to get the right angle/add more security to the actual camera I purchased the adjustable mount which was £11 x2 extra. Note - as the ones supplied are magnetic it goes without saying you should position so people cant steal/knock them off!- Wifi only - this isnt a con with this particular system but of course if for whatever reason your wifi drops out (or your camera isnt within range) you will lose the cameras functionalityAll in all I would highly recommend this solution to people who want to set up a quick, high quality system. I havent listed cost as a con - whilst it is alot of money, its still well priced vs. wired systems. That said, £110 for a standalone camera seems more on the high side, which is why I would further recommend purchasing the cameras in the initial bundle as it will save on further expense later on!

Fantastic piece of kit.
Before I found Arlo Smart Home I was using an old Yale home security cctv set up that required power to the camera (like most do) but the link to the base station was wireless. Although, when it came out in the mid noughties it was the bee's knees. But, after a year or so, the cameras needed replacing because they continuously failed (PIR sensor failure, lens or both). An expensive luxury at nearly £100 per camera, considering it was for security. Then along comes Netgear's Arlo. I stupidly bought the one camera kit to start with, but immediately bought a second camera after finding out how good this system was. Battery operated camera? How good can that be? Been waiting years for something like this and couldn't believe my luck when I saw this on Amazon.I have been using this kit (with the two cameras) for over 2 months now. Battery levels are good and still using the original batteries supplied with the cameras. I have them both set on motion detection full-time, one covering my car and drive at the front of my house and the other covering the back garden. The front camera is set to 95% detection with 15 second clips and the rear is set to 50% detection, 10 second clips. I get around 150-200 clips per day at the front (is overlooking the road too) and about 20 clips at the back. I have paid the extra for the medium package (laziness) to store clips in the cloud but I have downloaded quite a few (F.O.C.) to my pc/Dropbox. This way, if anything interesting catches my eye, I can store the clips for later use, indefinitely. At the rear I have found I have a resident hedgehog and several frogs in my waterfall. (Honestly, I never knew!) Plus, about 15 cats frequent my garden every night to do their 'business'!!It's nice to be able to see what is going on at my house when I am not there via my smartphone (live) and to delete unwanted clips via my smartphone or pc to keep storage space. You can take stills with the cameras via your smartphone or desktop. Video quality is not brilliant, but you can make out faces and objects fairly easily. During daylight hours (colour) you can see almost everything you need to and I think, very clearly, but in night-shot mode (automatic black and white), it should be sufficient for most people's needs. The phone app is currently a bit limited but you can see and do most things including saving, making favourites or deleting unwanted clips. On your pc, you can zoom in to parts of the clip, though as I said earlier, quality is not brilliant, especially on close-up. I zoomed into a bin cleaning wagon on the street to read the telephone number, but it was just a blur. It depends how you set your cameras up though. I have mine covering a wide area with the focal point (centre of the lens/screen) on my car, so the outside edges are bound to not be in focus. All in all, I am so glad I bought this fantastic gear. If anyone messes with my car again, I'll have them red-handed, so to speak.
