This is an excellent shampoo for treated hair. According to the product page, it is paraben-free and sulfate-free. Parabens are preservatives which extend the shelf life of shampoo, but also adversely affect many hair treatments (such as chemical straightening). Sulfates are a type of cleansing agent that can break down the keratin in hair treatments.I headlined this shampoo as “no-nonsense” because it won’t immediately impress you with exotic fragrances or anything else out of the ordinary. The fragrance is extremely mild (just a light, clean “soap” smell) and the consistency is similar to any other quality shampoo. However, it cleans gently but thoroughly, leaving my hair feeling clean and smooth, but not stripped or dried out. If you’re looking for a fancy-smelling, “salon” experience, this shampoo isn’t for you, but if you want a simple, effective shampoo for treated hair, I would highly recommend this.According to the bottle, the product is made in Brazil (which explains why the barely legible instructions are in English, Spanish and Portuguese), but assuming I am correctly interpreting the two dates printed on the back, the product I received (in March 2025) was manufactured in October 2024 and has a two-year shelf life (i.e., until October 2026).As for value, the price ($34.99 at time of order) for a 33.6 oz. bottle seems very reasonable for the high quality. (I have used shampoos with similar ingredients and claims which at least the same price for a 6-8 oz. bottle!)5 stars.

Even though it says it is, twice on their listing, there’s definitely sulfate included in the ingredients. I got the shampoo because it stated that it was sulfate free, and I am trying to protect my old, white, fragile, gray hair and this will definitely not help! I feel bad about giving it only one star because it smells nice, lathers really well (which proves there’s sulfate in it) and it left my hair sleek and silky. But unfortunately, I just can’t do sulfates anymore. I’m really disappointed that they advertised it sulfates free when it does indeed have sulfates.

This shampoo has a neutral, clean scent. Nothing strong or heavy which is a plus for me! It's not super-duper lathery comapred to other shampoos I have which can be a good thing. I do feel I have to use a bit more but I have thick, coarse hair. Seems to be a good value given the size you get compared to other brands.

Since the bottle is so big, I wish it came with a pump dispenser since the bottle is pretty heavy. This shampoo is marketed for use before a straightening treatment which was why I wanted to try it. I've been using at home straightening treatments and was hoping maybe this shampoo will help with the effectiveness of the treatment. I didn't notice any difference using this shampoo versus a normal one. The shampoo itself lathered up well and rinsed off easily. It works well as simply a shampoo.Made in Brazil.

I’m not sure what this is supposed to smell like, but I can only describe it as wine. It literally smells like wine to me. The consistency is a slightly thick jelly with a surprisingly light lather. I’m impressed with how quickly and easily I’m able to wash it out. It seems to leave my hair in good condition. The bottle is big enough to last for many washes. I like this shampoo so far.

This shampoo has nice lather and a pleasant scent. My family of 6 has varying textured hair, and it works for all of us, without being too drying. The bottle size I very generous for the cost, and I appreciate the fact that it is vegan and gentle.

This is a great value for such a large bottle of shampoo.The scent is light and clean and works very well at keeping my hair soft and manageable.It isn't drying and I don't have to use extra moisturizers or conditioners.
