Marvellous! - be aware of differences between models - read this review
The Huion light panels are marvellous! They have a wonderful build quality about them, and the light is fantastic. The models are significantly different, and the descriptions are not totally obvious about that, so here are the facts:The L4S is the thinnest and cheapest. It is wonderfully thin and light, giving the impression of being a single sheet of perspex. The light is slightly weaker than the other models, but it is perfectly bright enough. It comes with a USB lead - you need to plug it into your computer (or a USB charger you already have) for it to work. I feel this is probably the best model for many people. The A4 is brighter and more expensive. It comes with a charger, and it needs to be plugged into this charger to work. It does NOT have a USB connection. It is thicker and heavier than the L4S. It has the brightest, most even light. But the light is not that much brighter than the L4S, so the L4S may be the best bet for many people. However if you want the brightest light, the A4 is the one for you. Then there is the LB4, which has a built-in lithium battery (the same sort of battery technology as phones and laptops). It is very similar to the L4S but with a battery. It is not as bright as the A4, but the difference is not that significant. It has a USB socket and cable, and can be powered by USB or by battery. You recharge the battery via USB. This model is larger and heavier than the L4S (because of the battery). So if you want cordless portability, this is the one for you. But if you don't mind plugging your light panel into a USB power source, the LS4 is cheaper and lighter. This review covers the A4 sizes, but there are similar models in other sizes. They are all marvellous light panels - I recommend them highly - you won't regret buying a Huion light panel.

Best of the bunch.
Although ours is for use in conjunction with a PC and scanner for slide and negative sorting, it should work with any standard USB port/hub/charger. The lead is 1.5m long and quite big enough for most desk-tops, although it's power-only and won't pass data. The small end fits my Samsung and Garmin gear, so getting a cheap charger for it on line, at Tesco, or PC World etc is easy. The environment you use it in, and it's effect on lead-length is of course up to you. It does say it's USB in the advert, and this reflected in it's good price and performance. The unit is snazzy looking, thin, light, bright and simple to use.The top seems to be plastic rather than glass, which at this price point is a good thing, as unless it's "Gorilla" or similar it could present a safety issue. Other makers' versions have had their problems it seems. On the other hand, if you're going to be tracing on it, watch out for scratching,( although you have to keep remembering when looking at it that it's not an actual £1000 Macbook/fondle-slab, just a cheap light box ).This is probably the best version for our needs of what is becoming a pretty common product from various sources. It could also make a great inspection/work-light,(but treat it gently). You might also like to keep a pair of scissors handy and some dark paper to mask off the bare screen round your work, it's bright!

Huion L4S great for photography
Bought this Huion L4S Led Light Pad for backlighting photographic use and after some test shots I can truly say it does the job excellently. The even overall light is perfect and because the light is very adjustable it makes the task of getting the right light parameters ie f stop, exposure time and iso much easier. Also it can be used as a light pad for under lighting which is used for product photography and it does this job well to.Overall this is a great product at a great price when you consider the cost of the bespoke photography light pads that are on the market. One other point if you are a photographer out in the field this light pad will do an excellent job of lighting dark macro areas. You can use it with a Portable charger like this one at Amazon RAVPower Portable Charger 16000mAh Power Bank External Battery Pack with iSmart Technology (3rd Generation Deluxe, 4.5A Output, Dual USB) - Black With this charger the light will last for 24 hours (my estimate based on use) before needing a recharge. If you need a light pad for small scale photography work buy this Huion L4S you will not be disappointed.

PROFESSIONAL QUALITY
This is a very good light pad. I am so relieved of the overall quality of this after a poor experience with another lightpad I bought on Amazon which seemed to be a cheaply made imitation of this one.I have deducted one star because you have to purchase a separate mains adaptor. However if I could give it 4.5 stars I would, because the light pad is a great deal better then the other one which I returned (which was not made by Huion).Other people seem to have no problem with plugging the USB cable which powers this into their computer but I do a lot of manual design where I don't need my computer on so wanted to be able to use this independently. If anyone's interested I bought a twin USB-outlet mains charger from Maplin. The free USB outlet can be used to charge your iPod at the same time or something similar. I still had to plug this into an extension socket which I already owned; as other reviewers have mentioned the USB cable included is very short. However, everything about this lightpad is quality. The switching on and off of it requires a bit of getting used to as it comes on gradually. Then you have to tap the switch for it to go off at once because if you just hold it down the light will dim gradually. A red LED illuminates at the side when the power is on (as if the surface of the unit lighting up wasn't indicative enough, but still, it shows attention to detail). The unit is very light but doesn't feel cheap because of it. It is also very thin which I like. I hope it lasts a long time because you can't replace LEDs in the unit, but I heard that they should last for something like 50,000 hours.

Works like a charm for tracing on 300 gsm watercolour paper
Perfect for tracing pencil sketches on up to 300 gsm watercolour paper. The light is strong enough, works extra well though in a less lit room.It needs power to work, but I use a chargeable powerbank so I'm not dependable of an outlet and can even use it outside. No need to buy a bigger size light box, just stick both pages together (with easy removable tape) and you’re free to move them around. Don't tape the paper to the lightpad, it's hard to remove the residue.I kept the foam packaging to protect the screen when not in use.

Excellent Lightpad for all my tracing/transfer and drawing needs
Wasn't sure how good a light pad compared to traditional light box would be, but this exceeded my expectations. I work with thick Strathmore Bristol for artwork and wanted to be able to transfer work to it from scrap or from it for other uses. This was absolutely perfect for this.Pros- The light level is excellent. Extremely bright and can see through even Strathmore 300 bristol.- Lightweight. This is very portable and can move it around my desk and work area with ease. Fits in my portfolio/art bag with no issues.- Durable. I haven't had it long, but it's not getting banged up and I have no worries about it cracking or breaking. Feels very strong for how light it is. I've had anatomy books and references sitting on it and it in with art supplies carrying it around in a bag with no issues. I don't toss it around or try to stress it, but I'm not worried about it at any time in my daily use so far.- No installation or drivers or otherwise. No real buttons either (power button is part of glass and just tap it for light levels or to turn on/off). Just plug into USB and hit the power button and start working.- Small clip for holding paper on. Didn't really consider this or see it in images when I bought this, but it came with a small metal clip with little padding on the front part that slides onto the light pad (any side, top or bottom). About an inch long and stops short of the light area. I used tape to hold paper in place on light boxes and I know some light boxes had built in clips like this, but was pleasantly surprised to have this when I wasnt expecting it. I use it all the time and its excellent. Tight, but easily slide paper under and doesnt tear or leave impressions on the paper. Even for thin vellum/tracing paper.Cons- Power button is fairly sensitive to touch. I've had it turn off/lower light randomly while using larger paper (11" x 17") than the actual size of the light pad (A4 size).- Metric measurements on small rulers on edge of light pad. Knew they were metric to begin with, so not a real con. Just something to point out if you actively use rulers/want them in inches. I have architectural drawings and other things that are measurements of or scaled off of inches or feet, but I dont use the light pad to measure or do anything like that, so doesnt affect me at all. Just a heads up more than a real con.- USB only. While it is easy to hook up and the cord is extremely long, I wish it came with a plug adapter. I'm going to pick up some generic adapter and hopefully be able to plug into a power bar in the future. For now, I'm tethered to the laptop or PC. Only a couple times I've had to make space or move the laptop physically in my workspace where this bothered me, but thought I'd mention. Should be an easy fix and I knew this was USB only beforehand. They didnt advertise it with a plug and it's quite clear this is how it works.ConclusionEverything I wanted and more. Sleek, lightweight design with excellent lighting. Even the thickest paper is easily visible through it. I've only turned off the overhead lights once because of really light linework that was fuzzy on some bristol and then it was perfectly visible. A++ light pad. Only had a short time, so take that into account for long term durability, but I highly recommend this for anyone that uses tracing paper, transfers from sketchbooks or art or need a light box/pad. Only couple minor quibbles about things I knew going into the purchase (USB with no plug adapter, etc).
