Perfect for the middle of my kitchen table. Looks fabulous with table mats and coasters. Excellent service from the seller.

Seemed nice enough but very fragile around the edges so didn’t survive delivery. Not as thick as others I have so had to return for refund.

Beautiful black piece of slate ❣️ The slate is decently thick bit It is delicate and edges can be easily chipped, however they sent it to me very well packed and protected. I wiped the dust a bit and enhanced and enhanced the black color with sealant, but you can also use oil and leave to dry. I use it as a decoration in the kitchen, but it is very good for protecting the worktop from oil buttles, salt and pepper shakers. Moreover I clean it easily with a cloth. 👍🏻

good thick slate, but a bit undressed on the top surface, somewhat flaky, and lost bits for a while, but nothing that a gentle sanding and application of olive oil to bring up a shine cant fix, would buy again

[update Aug 21 - picked up one by the corner and it broke off] These are not fit for purpose. See pic. Updated 22/1] - Unfortunately I've had to edit my review (and knock off a couple of stars) due to some issues which were not immediately apparent. Ours are leaving tiny slate chippings everywhere. We do't have them butted together and are not treating them roughly. They are just sitting on the coffee table, but now we're having to constantly hoover up chips and dust from them. No idea why they're doing this. They have a deliberately rough edge however which means that there are lots of vulnerable sharp points. Our slate mats which are saw cut on thed edges do not suffer from this issue. ---Original review ---- These are as described and pretty good. The description of depth of 8mm is a touch misleading as this is the depth including the feet, so the actual slate is much thinner - I'd estimate about 4mm. That's not an issue as if these were 8mm thick they'd be incredibly heavy, but it's worth noting. They have small rubber feet in each corner. Our other slate mats have felt over the whole underside and we weren't sure about these, but for a table runner which you don't want to move about, this is actually probably better. Given they do the job, they seem good value at £24.99 compared to similar items.

Covered in black dust and filings even after washing still more comes off, so wouldn’t advice to put food direct on them to serve, very sharp edged so wouldn’t recommend if have children at table, I bought for centre runner on table but one is quite bowed, not sure on heat resistance as not used them for that yet, but will update review,
