Is anything printed on the revers side of the alphabet tabs? I would rather print months of the year myself if it is plain.

The alphabet letters are printed on both sides.

Are these index cards coated with any plastic coating?

Yes the coloured A, B, C tabs at the top of the index card has a shiny plastic coating.

how many cards do you get?

I got one set which covers A - Z but includes M and Mc. PQ is on one card, as well as XYZ - all in a total of 24 cards. They are good quality and the alphabet letters are in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Which of the sizes is closest to the size of a greetings card. I want to use something like this to divide and organize my cards?

The 8x5 is probably closest to a standard greeting card size, although I would say it is probably slightly smaller.
