Great replica at a decent price
Bought this for my Doctor Who-mad eldest son (11) who is delighted with it. The four different modes look good (green and blue, chase lights, pulsing) and the sounds are great too. Very detailed - made of plastic but quite robust. Great fun - when my son isn't using it I have a go too, being Doctor Who mad as well!

Great for collectors and fans, alike
Having been a doctor who fan for a very long time and having owned every single sonic screwdriver ever created during this time period, I just had to buy this new one when I saw it. The 12th doctors sonic screwdriver arrived today and I must say I am pleased with the item. Compared to others in my collection such as the 10th and 11th doctor screwdrivers this probably isn't my favourite but the build quality is much the same and this time they have added a few extra new sound effects and you also have two colour modes which include blue and green when the button is pushed up and down. This screwdriver doesn't extend or open like previous versions and what you see is what you get, but nevertheless it is a nice item for any doctor who fan and collector and it will be nice to put with the others. It also feels nice when held and isn't too heavy or too flimsy and the design is rather attractive. The light effects also change depending on what mode you use with the buttons which again adds that something extra to the product which hasn't been done with some previous versions of the screwdriver. So, to summarise I will say this isn't the best one of the screwdrivers, but I like it all the same, and I would recommend it to fans and collectors of all ages.

Could pass for the real thing!
Character Options have released a lot of great sonic screwdrivers from across Doctor Who's history, and few have disappointed. Of all of them, the 12th Doctor's sonic screwdriver is probably up there with some of its best. This could honestly pass for the real thing with how close it is to the on-screen design. This time there's no legal text obscuring any part of the sonic, and any screw holes that are required look like part of the original design itself rather than standing out for the wrong reasons. The colours and paint applications are very neatly done and this sonic is surprisingly big when compared to others such as the 10th or 11th Doctor's.As per usual, the 12th Doctor's sonic also comes with lights and sound effects which are very simple to control. Using the little slider on the side of the design, just slide up to light up the top in green and slide down for blue. The choice is a nice addition, especially since there are times in the show where it appears to light up with both. It also comes with some hidden sound effects and light patterns that can be found by sliding up or down twice in succession and done quickly. For younger users, I can't see much risk of this breaking as it is a sturdy and quite bulky design - an indication of its quality. Overall, this is one of the best bits of merchandise to come from Character Options and is worth picking up for any Whovian!

Expensive & feels cheap but the child LOVES it.
My son is over the moon with this - four different light/sound options, he loves it.I think however that it looks a bit fragile and not as well made as previous models, so I'm slightly waiting for something on it to snap. Also, nothing on this moves at all, it's fixed solid, there is no additional functionality. While that means it might last longer, frankly it seems like a LOT of money for some moulded plastic with a light and a noise button!However... the child is happy...

Wonderful. My son loves it so much.
My 5 year old son loves this. He loves dr who and gadgets. We worked out two of the settings which was fab but then he accidentally kept getting a third- we couldn't work out how to do it again (no clue on the box), so googled it and found it had four settings. The fact he feels like he has 2 secret settings that others don't know about, he loves. It is a well made toy and not too annoying/noisy or bright for adults. I give it full marks as a gift and will buy again for others.

The 12th Doctor's Second Sonic - A Near Perfect Replica
I ordered the sonic last week and it arrived yesterday.First of all. this is an amazing product! I own all previous sonics, and this as to be my favourite so far in terms of resemblance to the original one. This is the first sonic that doesn't feature licencing writings on the surface.Although it's not the best sonic design (as far as I'm concerned), I think its sound and light effects are the best made so far.Oh, and it's MASSIVE!!!! It literrally is the biggest sonic screwdriver (it's bigger thant Matt Smith's sonic when it's extended!)So basically, it's a must-have for every Doctor Who fan!

The Most Versatile and Polished Toy Sonic Yet
CO have taken sonic toy design to the next level here. It's a nice build, and features four different light and sound functions in one. More than that, it doesn't just cycle through the options randomly like previous sonics but the exact effect you want can be chosen (the instructions on that could be better, in fairness -you push the button forward and hold for one effect, pull back and hold for the second, push forward briefly then push forward and hold for the third, and pull back briefly and then pull back and hold for the final one.It wound up taking me a bit of trial and error to work out how it worked, but that may just be me being dim!

Brilliant toy!
I am massivally impressed by this toy. It makes me sad when it has to leave my sight. Extremely well made, very screen accurate. Has fun play features, both lights and sounds, and a great item if you plan on doing a 12th Doctor cosplay... or just buying the toy as a present or as a collection piece
