Great product, especially for the price!
As a newbie to photography I wanted a cheaper tripod for my camera before I started forking out more money than needed at the moment, especially considering I just bought a fairly expensive camera already!I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at this product. I ordered it a couple of months ago but I like to wait a while before leaving reviews so I can test the product out properly. The tripod comes with a handy travel case which has a shoulder strap and the product itself is very light so I had no issues at all carrying it around. In fact, it feels the same weight as my camera! When folded and packed in case, it comes to around knee cap height. Once extended fully it goes to an average weist height which for portait photographs may not be ideal but I found it fine for landscape photography etc and the one time I did want a portrait photo of my family I just placed it on my coffee table which made it the ideal height. The Tripod is extremely easy to use, and has a bubble gauge to ensure you have your camera level when setting it up. It also comes with a little handle which not only makes it easy to adjust the postition, but I found it easy to use it to pick the camera up with it when recording videos without having to detach it from the tripod. As said before, the combined wait of the camera and tripod are really light so it's really easy to manoeuvre. To attach the camera with the tripod, there is a little plate that screws into the bottom of the camera which then clips on to the tripod which has an easy quick release clip to take it off again. Fortunatley, the plate which attaches to the bottom of the camera is so small I never need to take it off as it doesn't hinder the ability to hand hold it and it is also small enough for the camera to fit into it's case just as easy when it's not attached.Overall, this is a great product and for the price you cannot complain! Onviously, there are bettee tripods out there, but if like me you're new to photography or you just want to pick one up for a cheap price then this is definatley a good product!

Value for money basic tripod.
Bought it i few weeks ago. Used it this weekend. I also bought a much more expensive tripod at the same time. I needed both this weekend so although I can not say anything about the long term use i will give this a first impressions review. The bag it came in was of much better quality than the other tripod at just over twice the price of this tripod. Reasonable material and a proper zip. It appears well made and the seams look good. The other one thin plastic bag with drawstring.I understand why people are commenting that this is a lightweight and maybe flimsy tripod but it tells you the weight in the specs just over 600g. So I don't understand why these people think that the tripod should be heavier than it is. Yes it is lightweight and as such I would not be putting £500. cameras on it without securing it with either weights or attach ties. If your equipment is of that value then why are you looking at an Amazon basics item. Then being upset that it doesn't perform like a mid to top range tripod. It did everything I wanted. It was reasonably robust it is perfectly strong enough to support a reasonable camcorder or camera. Yes the legs are fine and I wouldn't want to be using it in high winds without securing it. But again I say in my opinion for the money it is a good buy and time will tell. I have in the past broken very expensive tripods.Stability and stiffness I did not give full marks for as it is not the best tripod ever but in its price range I doubt you could beat it. And this one at Amazon's price is in my opinion a very good buy. For those reasons I would recommend this tripod.I have paid a lot more for a much poorer quality tripod. It seems a good basic piece of kit.

Very good for the price, be careful if you're using a DSLR.
I actually bought this because I needed to make one of my orders over £10 to get free delivery and I just so happened to stumble upon this nifty little Monopod, I had actually never heard of Monopods before (Unbelievable I know.) and it looked quite promising, I have an almost identical Hama Tripod that I simply never use since It's too big to take anywhere, I'm a cyclist so transporting a heavy Tripod around daily is a little bit troublesome. This came promptly as I'd expect when buying from Amazon and was pleasantly surprised at it's build quality, the leg feels sturdy and strong, even the leg clips; although standard, seem durable, I bought this to use with my D5100 DSLR, when I first attached it I almost knocked my DSLR as it flimsily swung to the side, which gave me a permanent reminder that you need to ensure everything is extremely tight when using a heavy weighted camera, I should mention I wasn't using the kit lens, rather a hefty metal tamron super zoom which weighs almost heavier than the camera itself so It's perfectly understandable. The head of the Monopod seems kind of flimsy and looks very weak, but it hasn't failed me yet so I'm pleasantly surprised! The leg was surprisingly tall as well, when it's not in use outside I often extend it across my room to flip the light switch. As mentioned in the original listing, the Monopod comes with a waterproof case that can be slung over your shoulder for easy transport, when reduced to it's minimum size It comes to around 60cm or so, so unfortunately it won't fit in my backpack, but I can still sling it over my shoulder, one downside is the strap when extended to it's full length: Is still kind of short, which can make it awkward to transport on occasion, I guess it depends on your size though.Overall, I really like it, great for the price, has a few downsides as mentioned, but a solid monopod that I would heavily recommend.
