Quick and convenient heat pack
I was going to buy a hot water bottle to try and ease my circulation / ankle pain. But as is always the case with boiling hot water, its difficult to get a balance of hot, but not burning hot and mostly ends up tossed around and eventually just dumped on the floor. I wasn't particular inspired when this arrived and didn't even take it out of the packet for the first 3 days. But now as part of my nightly routine, I chuck it in the micro for 40 seconds and then leave it on my ankle for about 20 minutes. The beads allow it to form into pretty much any shape and so it fits well around my ankle providing gentle bearable heat. As other reviews mention, it doesn't stay hot for long. But I can't sit in the same position for more than about 15-20 mins anyway. I've found its helped a lot with the pain and I'm sleeping much better.

Pleasantly surprised.
Didn't think a therapy pack could be improved upon/reinvented but this proves otherwise. Purchased this for my partner who had an extensive surgery in his arm. We needed something that would work with both cold and hot therapy to manage post-surgery bruising, swelling and general pain. We also needed something sizeable but not too large. This did the job. We were used to both gel packs and grain packs. Gel packs typically scalded when it came to heat therapy, holding in too much heat or not enough. And when cold, they were solid and too cold. Grain packs do a good job getting heated up in the microwave but aren't as good about being cold quickly. This product did both wonderfully. It would heat up and cool down quickly. Never too hot due to the pearls distributing the heat. And when cold, it doesn't really become hard or too cold due to the pearls. Finally, we were impressed by the way the pack itself sat on the body. No hollow spots like gel or even some grain packs. It is expensive but we got a lot of use and reliably too. These days we even use it for our older dog after walks.

smaller than expected but good
good overall, really helps with pains and headaches. Smaller and thinner than i'd anticipated, could be better!

AH ! RELIEF AT LONG LAST
This review is my own private opinion of the TheraPearl Sports Pack, Reusable Hot & Cold Therapy Pack with Gel Beads.Unfortunately I have damaged my neck and only have a 10% movement. My GP gave me Diazepam 2mg tabs to be taken 3 times a day but due to having to take other medication the sided affects are so bad I can't put up with it.I put the gel pad in the microwave for 35 seconds and then wrapped it in a thin towel and put it on my neck OH what a lovely feeling left it there for 10 minutes. the pad certainly helped to ease the pain so repeated it all over again. Whilst it did not release my neck it certainly helped to ease the pain, will keep on doing it this way at least 3 or 4 times a day until I have to see the consultant in the next 2weeks.YES I thoroughly recommend the TheraPearl Sports Pack, Reusable Hot & Cold Therapy Pack with Gel Beads.

Decent cooling but poor construction
Effective cooling, but not great construction. Big advantage over, say, a bag of peas is three fold: the speed at which it cools down; the length of time it remains cold; and it’s longevity between having to buy new ones.Very good at the first two, not great at the last. I’ve bought two of these in the last 3 years, both developed a small tear at the seam through which the “pearls” leaked.Great for a short term buy, but certainly not a long term investment, and on that basis - is it much better than a bags of peas?

Very good. Heats up quickly
Very good. Heats up quickly, stays warm a long time - Luke warm for a couple of hours, and is compact enough to get it just where you need it. The 'pearls' are good as if you do overheat, the pearl might burst, but the bag stays intact (the loose gel ones broke in a week.). Can get hot enough to rely sink in. Very tactile - both my children want one!

Good for pain relief
I already have one of these packs (that is just for putting in the freezer for when you need to put ice on an injury) & decided that I could do with another. This new version is even better than my original because you can put it in the freezer or you can heat it in the microwave to use as a warm/hot pack too. They stay mailable when frozen so that it moulds around your body sharp to gain full contact. Also, it doesn’t become all wet on the outside of it like a bag of frozen peas!

Works well
Pretty small in size, but works really well as the little pearls are easier to shift around when frozen rather than those that have just a big mass of gel inside.
